Firstly its Spring and we could sit in the garden and not freeze inside their cavernous restaurant in mid-winter, as we did in June this year. The waitrons were run off their feet because its the "go to place" for baby showers, birthdays, weddings, all celebrations it seems. I expected service to be very slow but it was reasonable. The menu is well balanced - from baguettes with interesting fillings to quiche to a selection of salads, fillet, salmon and lamb. There is a menu for every planned occasion - a set lunch menu, breakfast menu, brunch menu, tea menu, plated menu, floating menu, canapé menu, buffet dinner menu and a children's menu - they have got everything covered. From our first visit where we tried the fillet, quiche and black mushrooms to this weekend's visit where we had baguettes - the parma ham, fig and brie was superb, as was the chicken and bacon one. Our waitron apologised for the length it took for the bill to arrive - he said that someone had made a mistake and charged drinks to our bill
