“Not bad”
Reviewed 6 February 2013

I've been on a bunch of brewery tours around the world and I must say that the SAB world of beer is not terribly exciting.

Definitely worth a visit though as it is situated in Newtown, so while you are there you can take a stroll up to Marshall Town and Ghandi square

“No 1. Tourist attraction in Jozi...as voted by who?”
Reviewed 14 January 2013

If you're in Jo'burg and need to kill an hour, this is amusing, vaguely
educational and you get a couple of beers at the end (and a small one in a
souvenir glass along the way) so it's not a total disaster however, I am
slightly worried that tourists will see the tag line 'Johannesburg's no. 1
tourist attraction', note that this is average at best and then not go to
the Apartheid museum or anywhere else as this is supposedly the best!

The tour is trying to be a bit 'Disney' in that there are lots of themed
rooms with video shows and various effects. Disney don't need to be too
concerned at this stage! Some are dreadful and just time fillers and
others are pretty good and interesting, particularly the traditional
African village video and the old mining town pub.

Go if you need to kill time or particularly like beer, it's only ZAR 550
(about GBP4.00) so a good way to kill a couple of hours...just manage
expectations with the no.1 tourist attraction bit!!
