The Wits Art Museum is a refreshing and welcome fairly-recent addition to downtown Jozi's Braamfontein. With its big glass windows, it is inviting to the public, and hopefully helps make art and photography a less 'exclusive' zone. WAM has a busy programme of events, and especially walkabouts by artists and experts. Admission is free! Well worth a visit, since it's in the vicinity of several other galleries and cultural spaces in Braamfontiein. Only pity is that the cafe doesn't seem to be very well stocked or patronised over the weekend.
