We stayed at the African Rock Hotel our first evening in South Africa and have a wonderful experience. We arrived just after 5PM and needed somewhere reasonably near the airport area to stay until our flight the next day to our safari location. The hotel arranged the tranfer and everything was comfortable and courteous transporting two weary travellers to the hotel. I chose the African Rock as they had a chef that prepared dinner and I thought it would be nice after a 16 hour flight to relax in lovely surroundings with a leisurely meal.... and I couldn't have been more correct. The facilities are spectacularily lovely and the dinner was as beautiful as it was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was also wonderful after a good nights sleep. I would most definitely stay here again!!

Very pleasant ,personal design hotel, with nice dinners at the hotel and very friendly, helpfull owners. Espcecially the oasis-feeling" while visiting Johannesburg was a nice combination.

A good hotel, nine rooms, all service included.
Very friendly staff, very friendly owners.
Not each room has a big terrace, but the garden with swimmingpool is beautiful, also the rest of the hotel.
Dining is possible (and good).
For them who want a apart bathroom, the bathroom is ensuite, no doors>
We enjoyed our stay there.

We had an overnight stay in Johannesburg after flying in from Namibia and leaving again for Europe the next day connecting flights on the same day was not possible, we chose the African Rock Hotel. Our transfers were private and included in the price of our stay. This hotel is new and individual and the service was personal and fantastic, thanks everyone, we really felt looked after and hugely enjoyed 24hours of comfort after a camping safari in Namibia. If there is a criticism it would be that the food whilst looking delicious tries to hard, and would benefit from being simpler with the flavours being allowed to shine through.
