“Simply Great”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

The main reason we booked into this hotel was the architecture - I had seen pictures, and wanted to see the real thing. It was exceptional. :-) Nothing else disappointed either. Food was the best I ever had, and the service was great. Will be back for sure!

My friend told me about his stay at this hotel and the restaurant Roots. He is always right about this type of thing so we gave Roots restaurant a try today...it"s our 29th anniversary...I cant believe my Schatzen has put up with me for so long....

We did the set 6 course lunch together with the wine pairing option. We had a fabulous experience. You should try it!

I know for sure we had at least 20 interesting things on our plates during the afternoon (you need to write the afternoon off) that we have never had before, and no, no strange stuff that Fear Factor is made of.

Our waitron Marco, was energetic, excited and interested in describing each dish as it came forward, as was Jacques our sommelier, but perhaps to a lesser extent in the enthusiasm department.

Adriaan, the chef, hit all my targets when it comes to what I was expecting of a fine dining experience. Well done boet! It was just...Great!

Now, in closing I would also like to thank Zandri who set this all up..answering email enquiries after 8 pm is not what you would expect from anywhere, not to mention her follow ups early in the morning.

We had a great afternoon out thanks to you folks at Roots. My Schatzen thinks you are awesome too!

Good luck for the future

Room Tip: Ask for Marco, He is great!

I stayed here for a week and wished it could have gone on for another. The service is amazing and the environment makes you feel you are in another world. The property. Is a ranch with several varieties of game. It is the first hotel I have stayed at where I had to sign a loss of life waiver form. They have three hippos on the property that an Beverly dangerous if you are where you shouldn't be when you shouldn't be there.
The meals are gourmet with breakfast, lunch and dinner being multiple courses. But we also found the staff to be more than willing to accommodate special requests. Not adding things but simplifying when we just couldn't handle the huge meal they were offering.
Everything was wonderfully managed and it was a delightful stay. I would highly recommend the property for anyone staying in the area.

We spent my birthday night at Forum Homini. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, had an inroom massage treatment and dinner at the restaurant. The whole experience is such a treat and after one night you feel like you've been away from home for much longer! Tranquil setting, 5 star cuisine and excellent, relaxing massages. Highly recommended!

What an awesome hotel experience. I must say we felt very spoilt on the night. It was an anniversary getaway so i booked us the Presidential suite! Awesome shower with a huge skylight above it, showering under the stars(almost), our own private plunge pool. Our suite was massive with its own lounge and dining room. it was very clean and the service was excellent!

Room Tip: spoil yourself, spend the money and go for the Presidential suite!

Spent a Sunday night with my husband and in-laws - 7 course dinner at Roots restaurant, beautiful location and 5 course breakfast. The staff were friendly, accomodating and very knowledgeable - room was lovely with a small verandah looking onto the bush - quiet and peaceful and you would never know you were only about 30 mins from Joburg city centre. We spent the afternoon in the sun at the pool with our drinks. Food was absolutely superb with wine to accompany each course if you choose - my husband and mum-in-law both did and were impressed with the selection - the waitress talked us through each wine pairing. We had chocolates and dried fruit in our rooms as well as bottled water - Molton Brown, my favourite, was available in the bathrooms. A really wonderful mini-break - I felt pampered and relaxed by the time we set off for home on Monday.

We spent a night in the Presidential suite for my wife's birthday in October 2013. Room was great, service was good and food was very good. Suite was large and well laid out. Separate living room and dining area and away front he other rooms and main restaurant. Food was excellent (we have eaten at the restaurant several times). Service was competent. Overall, we would recommend this hotel for a short stay either as part of visiting the area or as a short getaway.
