“Average Picnic”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Spent a sunday afternoon there with a picnic that was setup along the riverside which sounds picturesque but in reality was just average esp in the winter time with lots of dust and dryness. Food basket was plentiful but not of the greatest quality - tough chewy lamb kebabs, weird noodle-stuffed oily spring rolls, dry sausage rolls, over-cooked quiche and stale donuts though the bread rolls, butter and cheeses was yummy. There was also barbecued chicken, cold-meats, pate and dessert that included fruit skewers, choc brownies and shortbread that were just ok. Waiter was present when needed but otherwise unobtrusive, which was great. Perhaps would be better in Summer once everything is green and lush again.

Room Tip: If you are having a picnic there, ask for the first picnic area nearest to the restaurant as it is c...

THANK YOU Sue Wells and the Toadbury Team. Toadbury Hall is definately one the best venues in Gauteng, if not the best. From the professional staff to the breathtaking venue, Toadbury has it all. We had the most amazing wedding and every guest said it was truly a fairytale wedding. The bridal suite and room were amazing and nothing was left to chance. The banqueting manager and support staff ensured that everything was on point on the day and every single guests needs were looked after. We have never experienced such amazing service before. The scenery is beyond beautiful. This was an amazing experience for us. Absolutely perfect. Thanks you Sue and thank you Toadbury. You made our wedding day perfect. Take care. Janine and Chris.

Toadbury Hall hosted the most perfect, wonderful Wedding Day for us, and we loved every second! Staff were incredible, and the venue, service and food were all exceptional and I continue to receive compliments about them all. I didn't have to worry about anything the whole day; it was simply everything I was hoping for and then some. Birgitte and staff should be so very proud of themselves, and all the hard work they put in for our magical Day! The Banqueting Manager, waiters and barmen, did a great job, they went above and beyond, and we were all treated like Kings and Queens. Birgitte was full of smiles as always, it was a pleasure working with her.

They did a perfect job!
Thank you once again!!!
Take care! X

Thank you to Sue Wells and Toadbury Hall for adding to our memorable wedding day. From the day we met with Sue, our wedding co-ordinator and booked our wedding we had nothing but excellent service, something you definitly don't experiance often nowadays. Toadbury Hall offers a beautiful country setting with the most amazing gardens and a stunning chapel. The days events ran smoothly and the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, which just added to our overall experiance throughout the day. The food on the day was second to none, all compliments go to the chef and his team, there were absolutely no complaints from any of the guests. Lara and I enjoyed every minute of our special day and we would recommend Toadbury Hall to any couple who is looking for a magical wedding experiance.

Thank you Sue and the rest of the Toadbury Hall team for making our day so special. Lara and Mark

Thank you Toadbury Hall for a memorable wedding... the stuff fairy tales are made of... not only is Toadbury Hall beautiful and serene, with it's lovely gardens, giant trees and tranquil water, but the warm reception and fantastic attention by the Toadbury team is wonderful. Our wedding planner prior to our special day was very attentive and kept in communication throughout the planning process and her positive attitude and friendliness on the day is all a bride needs to keep calm! The wedding facilitator was fantastic; while we did not see much of him, all of the planning happened in the background and when the time required that everything be ready, it was perfect... the Toadbury team worked like magic elves!
A stunning venue, with a quaint and very romantic chapel, beautiful garden setting, great service and lovely accommodation followed by a brilliant breakfast on the picturesque patio...
Thank you Toadbury Hall for a very special experience.

Fantastic service and such helpful, happy and wonderful staff from the Babysitter to the Wedding Co-ordinator. We had the most amazing wedding day at Toadbury Hall, food was excellent and huge selection of wines to compliment the delicious food. Thank you so much for making our day so special, we couldn't have wished for anything more. Our guests also raved about the fantastic experience.

This was our second visit to the deli at Toadbury hall. The service was slow to say the least. Food ordered off the kids menu took just as long as the adult food ( nearly an hour). On top of the long wait, there was a piece of ham on the vegetarian pizza, some seafood on the hawaian, and a dead fly on the chicken dish. The worst however was the utterly shocking attitude of the Chef when I complained. He argued that he hadnt sent it out that way! In my experience flies don't die on people's plates while at the table. Probably wont go back again despite the brilliant location.
