“A little gem!”
Reviewed 27 September 2012

Having just started our stay in South Africa, we were absolutely delighted with this gem of a guest house. The room was very clean and the comfortable bed gave us both a lovely night's sleep after a busy day. Breakfast was delicious with a lovely choice of fresh fruit and juices, followed by some freshly made pancakes. The ownwer Julia was extremely pleasant and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Nothing too much trouble for her or her staff.Shame we had to leave. Just hoping our next few stays wll be as good.

I had the most wonderful stay at Wild Olive in April 2012! I felt so comfortable, warm and looked after by the friendly staff, espesially Gillian! I could not believe that there was a gym at the guest house as well as my own DStv in my bedroom- the perfect facilitities for a teenage girl! The one thing that I will always remember is the delicious pancakes for breakfast which were made with so much love and care and served with a delightful smile :) Although I was on my own for the first time, I never felt lonely for a second. I can't wait to go back to Wild Olive!

Room Tip: Ask for room number 4. It has a special alcove which doubles up as dressing room and a study area.

We went back to the Wild Olive, where we had stayed two years ago. This time we stayed in the cottage, which was clean, fresh and a great spot for our first few days back in Cape Town. In no time we recalled much of what we had learned the first time we visited and got back into the swing of things. Staff, led by Julie the owner and Gillian the Manager are just everything you would want. Helpful, obliging, nothing is too much.

Most of all the good things have been said already- and this is still quality place to stay without spending a fortune. I cannot recommend it too highly.

A nice guest house with friendly staff. Lots of useful amenities and "extra touches".

If being critical it could be said that the property is beginning to be a little "dated" and in need of upgrading but, having said that it is clean, comfortable, friendly and a pleasure to stay at.

Excellent hotel- I was met at the gate by a friendly manager (forget her name at the moment, but it began with a T), who showed us the property and our rooms, and explained the rules of the house. We were in one of the cottages, which was very clean, and nicely decorated. Hot and cold breakfast was included in the pricing, as well as free Internet and gated space for our car. One of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in, and it wasn't too far from the main part of the city. Our only complaint (and it is a very minor one) is that our TV was hooked up to another TV, and we had to remember when to turn it off or leave it on standby and whatnot- it was a bit confusing, me being drunk on the World Cup and all, so in the rare times we were in the room and not sleeping AND the front office closed, we sometimes couldn't watch the TV- because we couldn't figure out how to work it and there wasn't anyone to ask. We didn't mind though... but I imagine for folks who are indoors more, it would be a bit annoying. But that was it, quite frankly. We had a very pleasant stay.
