Excellent experience in service, setting, location, ambiance, food, coffee, staff and managment. Facilities , pool, spa and rooms are all "up there" with the best. The restaurant has an extensive menu with good food and the coffee shop/bar is very popular and offers a "always open" experience with a light meal menu. This hotel is truly pleasant and staff like Cherie who manages the restaurant is outstanding and very proffesional. Dito for the rest of the staff. I can truly recommend this hotel.

This was my sixth stay here - 12 nights, for the South Africa v Australia cricket Test in the main but also sightseeing. I arranged to be collected from the airport by the hotel's in house tour company, Jarat Tours - I thought a fixed R380 fare in a white Mercedes was good value.

Although arriving 2 hours before check in, my mountain view room - 336 was ready and in my preferred area. The room but not bathroom had undergone a refurb in the last 18 months or so. If you like a room with a view then go for a mountain view room - you never tire of the truly lovely view of naturally the mountain and indeed the hotel gardens.

I like the guest relations desk near reception where Cheryl very kindly arranged for me to have an early room make up each day - scrupulously observed. The unique restaurant is a real gem. At breakfast you can have the choice of cooked buffet (why no hash browns) or cooked to order which I prefer. Charmian, Thembele & Theodora were always efficient and attentive. If you have the time, try the breakfast on the Terrace - from 8am. A minor gripe is that at dinner you get charged for water and it would be nice to have a couple of bottles of water in your room each day - most other hotels do. There is a great harpist who plays at dinner once a week and on another night there is a pianist.

I found the WiFi to be efficient and trouble free and there are also two free computers in the business centre. There is a very large underground car park and opposite the hotel is a lovely cricket ground.

The 'upmarket' and large Cavendish shopping centre with supermarkets is a 7 minute walk away and there are some nice restaurants in the nearer Kildare centre. Newlands cricket and rugby grounds are about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. I walked back form the rugby by myself in the dark and live to tell the tale. The M3 is two minutes away and will have you in Cape Town in 10 minutes or down to the Atlantic and Indian Ocean resorts in the other direction.

If you want 5* opulent luxury in Cape Town with 3 inch carpet pile that covers your shoes or curtains operated by remote control then try the Waterfront hotels. However if you prefer a classy hotel full of charm, elegance, history, culture and character then come here. Do try and make time to have a look round the hotel, particularly at the back/side of the hotel - between the bar and restaurant - some lovely old pictures and old rooms which denote the history of the place.

The immaculately maintained gardens are absolutely fantastic and you could easily spend all day in them. If you walk far enough to the back you can even see a row of old vines!

In summary, this is a truly lovely hotel for a holiday - I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: If you like a room with a view, then definitely go for a mountain view room.

My wife & I have stayed at many 5* hotels around the world but theVineyard is very near the top of the list in every aspect. We were sorry to leave but will be back.
Our garden suite and the Myoga restaurant are 2 of the highlights of our stay.

The Vineyard hotel was absolutely wonderful. The check in was smooth and the room ready by the time we arrived. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The property is vast and has amazing views of the table mountain. The restaurant was nice with pleasant service. A walk around the property is highly recommended. The breakfast buffet was ample and despite an almost full hotel it was very well managed. We wanted to try out the restaurant Myoga however we didn't prebook it so were not able to dine there. However the food overall at the restaurant and room service was good. Relaxing place with wonderful outdoors, highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Opt for a mountain facing room. A wonderful room coupled with great views can elevate the holiday ex...

We recently stayed at the Vineyard Hotel and Spa for the Easter weekend and to run Two Oceans. It was the first time we had taken our children to Cape Town.
This hotel is a 2 minute walk to the nearest church which was great for Easter Mass. A quick walk to the start of the Two Oceans and close to a small mall and awesome cupcake shop.
The Vineyard has a spa, hairdresser, in door and out door pool. We spent most of our time resting from our race in the Lounge where staff went beyond to make you feel at home and comfortable. The hotel is very safe and my children with their friends spent hours in the hotels beautiful gardens while we sat on patio and could see them at all times.
The food at the Vineyard is outstanding weather we had breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff are helpful and any requests where attended to immediately.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cape Town. It is very central and you have easy access to all the towns. I do suggest car hire for easy access around. The hotel provides parking and both fetches and parks your car as you need.

Thank you to the Vineyard Staff and Management for making my Two Oceans and Easter weekend a memorable one. We will definitely be back for 2015 Two Oceans.

Room Tip: Request one of the new rooms. Ground floor rooms.

Loved this hotel. It was a restful, relaxing place to be and convenient to Two Oceans marathon start and finish. The on property restaurants are outstanding--every meal was exquisite, and with an extensive wine list. One of the best in the world I've stayed at.

I have stayed several times at the vineyard. It's location, facilities, friendly staff and general value (considering the Cape hotel scene) have always kept us going back.
It's the sort of place that when you don't fancy going out you can chill by the pool with a cocktail or have a massage at the Angsana spa. Rooms have been updated so it is a really nice place to stay - I recommend the mountain facing rooms for the best view. It's rare to find a hotel with charm and character and it's something the vineyard has loads of.
The hotel was full when we were there so the lounge and splash bar service was a bit grim, which is unusual from previous stays. Hopefully they read the survey card and do something about that. Aside from that we had a great stay and look forward to returning again.
