“Comfortable Haven”
Reviewed 6 August 2014 via mobile

Hotel has an old fashioned style and warmth to it although the rooms are very modern. Beds are comfortable and the rooms well equipped.Great fully equipped gym and a lovely terrace and gardens to relax in and enjoy an afternoon drink or tea. Staff are polite and friendly, although service is patchy in areas. Check out process efficient and breakfast of a good standard although not top class. Great stay, nice place to relax

We have stayed here on a number of occasions for both business and pleasure and have never been able to fault it.

It is clean, quiet and has an air of class but still retains a friendly atmosphere. The staff make you feel most welcomed and can't do enough for you. The rooms are spacious and have luxury fittings.

The gardens have great views and are a great place to relax in after a busy day, or before a busy evening. You can walk around the trail which drop away but are still in view of Table Mountain.

It is a fantastic location for the cricket and it's not too far from the waterfront.

We have eaten at the restaurant and have had food on the terrace whilst holding meetings. It is always a good standard and the breakfast has enough to feed any hungry traveller.

We will return here, it is good for couples or business.

It isn't inexpensive but well worth paying that little extra.

Keep it up. well done.

• Really liked the Vineyard as well
• Huge property
• Many room options, all lovely
• Cottages are more secluded
• Started their own Vineyard and produced their first approximately 160 bottles of wine last year
• They bought the property next door, and perhaps thinking of extending the vineyard to there
• Spa is all about touch, and the treatments are something different
• Plenty of parking available
• Close to shops
• Out of the hustle and bustle of V&A very tranquil
• Close to Kirstenbosch Gardens who now have that aerial cableway
• Have different dining areas, outside, inside, - different restaurants; sushi bar etc.
• Gym is much bigger than usual hotel gyms
• Food and wine pairing options
• Have a horticulturist situated on the property

We celebrated an anniversary at The Vineyard Hotel and took advantage of a special package on offer. The hotel staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. We were upgraded to a mountain view room which was a beautiful suite festooned with multi coloured rose petals. Friendly staff prepared a table so we could dine in our room. A complimentary bottle of Simonsig MCC rested in the ice bucket. Breakfast was delicious – a generous selection of high quality food - fresh and dried fruit, cereals, cold meats, fish, and treats like eggs Benedict with salmon, and the standard bacon and eggs. A good selection for vegetarians. Food is beautifully plated, served with a smile and friendly exchange of pleasantries. The standard of excellence extends to the Angsana Spa which offers the best service and treatments in South Africa in our opinion. Clean treatment rooms a range of spa packages to choose from, and soft spoken Thai and Indonesian therapists who know how to ease out jet lag and pamper tense muscles.

Sometimes when one keeps returning to the same hotel, they start finding things wrong and start thinking that things are stale; but this is not my experience with the Vineyard. Each time I visit, whether business or leisure, I keep on getting more impressed. The locality is superb to the Newlands area, the rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts simply unbeatable. The staff greet you walking down the corridors and they cannot go out of their way to help you. As an example, I returned with extremely wet and muddy sports clothing after lunch and needed them clean to pack that night. Without question, the hotel laundered, dried and ironed them for me by dinner.

Room Tip: All rooms are good - I have stayed in all sections of the hotel over the years and never had a probl...

The Vineyard hotel is one of the most elegant in Cape Town. South African hospitality with an old-world charm.
The gym is well equipped (personal trainer available), and there is a solar-heated outdoor pool and a (moderately heated) indoor pool. Secured underground parking is available.
In the back of the hotel is a lovely garden of considerable size, which is lovely to visit. But do not step on one of the large turtles there.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Vineyard Hotel during a business trip, and will absolutely be back.

The staff are great, the restaurant and pub areas were great, and truth be told, I'm not sure there's an outdoor area with a better view.

I I had to find something negative, the bathroom fixtures are a little dated, and that's about it ...

I'd absolutely recommend this ...
