We had a visit for about an hour to this unique botanical garden. Our tickets were ready as we arrived. The short walk to the entrance is lined with elegant statues and figures. The plants have separate locations according to their origins. There are healing plants and trees. Everything is so peaceful and has a positive message.

Recommended by a South African friend as a “must see” . On the slopes of table mountain 20 mins from Central Cape Town this National Parks administered attraction was good value stunning to walk around. I took the free walking tour lasted 90 minutes very enjoyable and informative and made me appreciate the huge variety of plants the gardens show plus a little bird watching throw in. But if you don’t fancy the formality you can simply wander along the well mark paths enjoy fabulous views of table mountain and across the valley to Stellenbosch. I had a delicious inexpensive takeaway sandwich from the on site tea room and sat on a park bench in the upper garden enjoying the few sand the wildlife simply stunning

Our entire family of 5 loved Kirstenbosch. The layout, the views the flora are simply incredible. Don't be fooled by people who say you can visit Kirstenbosch in an hour, you want to spend at least 2 if not 3 to fully appreciate the splendour of the place.

This Botanical garden is situated away from the hassle of city in a peaceful environment, you need to pay 50Rand as an entrance ticket , it has large species of beautiful plants and flowers, you can also find professional photographers capturing birds moments at pond/dam located in garden, Huge Waterfall and trekking to the top of mountain are other attractions.

Even in the winter, the gardens are stunning. There are some very interesting and unusual plants, as well as information about preventing threats to plants in the future. It's a peaceful place to spend a few hours. It can be reached via the sightseeing open top tour buses.
There are restaurants on site and the gift shop has a wide variety of things on offer.
