I understand that this hotel is frequently used by the government to host seminars. The lobby is very nicely decorated with African themes. Although I gave the hotel itself three stars, I would give the conference service five. There were not that many comments in Tripadvisor at the time of this review, so I tried my best to give the information I would have liked to know. I even uploaded some pictures, which I normally do not do.
Location: the hotel is next to "Burger Park" in the outskirts of Pretoria. It is very well located in case you need to work downtown or visit government offices, but I would definitively choose a different hotel for tourism. The hotel is close to some shopping centres during the day, but there are not many options nearby for dinning and I would definitively not recommend walking in the area during the night. However, it is possible to get a taxi to Brooklyn mall, where some of the nice restaurants are grouped. The Union buildings, one of the main tourist attractions in Pretoria, are not particularly close (about 30 minutes walking distance).
The rooms: mine had good space and had all the amenities you normally enjoy in this kind of hotels, but it felt a bit old and tired (in particular the bathroom). Walls are thin, so you may hear noise from the adjacent rooms. The air-conditioning didn't cool much, but the area is relatively calm during the night, so I enjoyed opening the window.
Breakfast: Lots of variety and food quality was very good. I liked, in particular, the big availability of fruits and, to my taste, the outstanding caramelized onions.
Service: Excellent. All employees I dealt with were quick to help and always with a smile.
Conference services: my company organized an event and we were very happy with it. They are clearly used to dealing with large groups and complex requests. Absolutely no complaints in this respect.
