“Newest Hotel in Kingman”
Reviewed 27 September 2009

The following is a very detailed review of my stay at the Springhill Suites in Kingman.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel one night in late September, 2009. We were assigned Room #203 with two beds. The layout of the room is fantastic. There is a sofa bed with workstation along with a mini refrigerator and small microwave. The workstation serves as a partition to the two beds.

The toilet and mini sink is in a small room separate from the tub and full sink. Shoji screen type doors (aka pocket doors) are used for both the toilet area and the shower area, which is a nice touch. An extra surprise for the room is a walk in closet with ironing board and extra blanket.

The space in the room is well used and the room is clean and contemporary with use of natureful greens, blues, whites and pops of orange and yellow only in the living areas.

The beds each have a reading light and then lighting over the bed area and them individual lighting for the workstation and mini refrigerator area. ProTerra Marine brand products are used in the bathroom for shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion (one use size).

With regard to the hotel itself, the ice machine on each floor is in its own separate, large area with a door. You cannot hear guests getting ice at all.

The gym is 24 hour and has two treadmills, one elliptical machine, a bench and freeweights. The swimming pool is modest and has 3 feet to 5 feet with a light shower effect on the 3 feet end. The pool is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The hotel opened in May, 2009, and has four floors and 73 suites. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small market type area in the lobby which

A complimentary buffet breakfast for guests is available in the lobby daily from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Items include: coffee (regular and decaf), tea (regular and decaf), orange juice, apple juice, water, oatmeal (with various toppings), six varieties of cold cereal (Raisin Bran, Corn Pops, Fruit Loops, Cherrios, Frosted Mini Wheats, and Apple Jacks), milk (regular and low fat), sliced fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and grapes), yogurt (Yoplait regular, Yoplait light, and Activia), fresh fruit (red apples, green apples, bananas, and oranges), toast bread with butter, peanut butter and three types of jelly, bagels and cream cheese, English muffins, hard boiled eggs, Canadian bacon (hot), scrambled eggs (hot), and a waffle maker with blueberries, syrup, and whipped cream.

On Andy Devine Avenue (same street as hotel), there is a Sonic, JB’s Restaurant and uptown drug store). Also, immediately next to the store and in very close walking distance is an Exxon Station. On the other side of the freeway still on Andy Devine is a K-Mart, Burger King, Arby’s, Denny’s McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Jack In the Box, Taco Bell and Basha’s Supermarket.

On Stockton Hill Road a short freeway drive away is In and Out Burger, Cracker Barrell, Subway, Panda Express, another Taco Bell, Del Taco, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Smith’s Grocery Store, a Walmart Supercenter, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreen’s Pharmacy, I-Hop, Golden Corral, Papa John’s Pizza, Chuy’s Mesquite Broiler, Little Caesar’s, Cerebat Bowling Center, a Laundromat (near Detroit Street), Safeway Grocery Store, JC Penney, and Kingman Company Steakhouse.

PRICE: I originally had reserved the room two months in advance for $100.00 per night for 3 people. We then canceled the room but at the last minute decided to stay overnight. The room rate on the Internet was $129.00 on most sites except Travelocity (they advertised for $103.00). I then booked the room through Priceline by bidding $45.00 and with tax, the pre-paid price was $57.09. I was shocked I received the price I wanted. Based on the quality and good service we received, I would still pay the full value price as well.

Though this room is listed as 2.5 stars, it is certainly worth more than that. The hotel is of great value for travelers who want a clean room, comfortable beds and pillows and nice amenities. I would definitely stay at the SpringHill Suites in Kingman again in the future and highly recommend it to others.

We spent one night here on our way thru Arizona. It is close to the interstate, but a little hard to find because it has a small sign and is set back from the road. It seems very new, and the decor is ultra high tech, worth the visit just to see the interior and the room furnishings. We had a king room with plenty of space plus a sitting area, flat screen TV, separate shower and commode rooms, all fixtures very modern, great shower head. Bedroom windows open just a bit for fresh air. Staff very friendly and helpful, quick check in and out. Only minor complaint would be about the breakfast. It was a typical hotel breakfast, but disorganized and not well stocked. They have a fitness center, business center and pool, none of which we used. Also high speed internet in the rooms. Plenty of parking. Would recommend and would stay again, hopefully they'll fix the breakfast situation.

We stayed at this hotel after getting off of the freeway and checking rates at 3 other hotels. The both BW's wanted 85 a night and a hole in the wall wanted 60 a night. We got our rooms for 70 each and it included breakfast. They really offered a military discount. THe others gave everyone the same rate and just said the discount was in there. Andy the check in guy was very friendly and helpful. I forgot my razor and he gave a complimentary one and asked if I need shaving cream. They have a little store area if you forget saline and other basics, but if you don't see it ask the desk person. The pool is rather small, but the kids enjoyed it anyhow. Breakfast was good they had chocolate, whole grain and vanilla waffles at the waffle station. Eggs, turkey sausage, bagels, muffins, cereal and the basics. Arlene even came over and cleared our table. Frig and microwaves in the rooms along with plastic plates and forks. Both the king and queen rooms had pull out couches and a separate living area.

This hotel was very modern kind of like a Hyatt Place, but nicer. The only drawbacks were there was no fan in the bathrooms and if your handicapped the van accessible ramp is not near handicap parking. Again Andy was Great and I would definately stay again if every traveling in the area. In the morning all of the staff had smiles and acknowledged you any time you passed them.

This hotel was outstanding for the price we paid. We recently traveled from CA to TX w/ my 2 year old daughter due to a family emergency. This hotel had the best service of any we stayed in BY FAR and the lowest rate (they actually offer a great military rate). The hotel was new w/ a pool, very modern style rooms and a hot breakfast! My only wish? That we'd stayed in this hotel going to TX as well as coming home from TX!

Brand new hotel and decorated in a modern style. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Only negative is that there is only one elevator and it is a slow process to wait for it.

New hotel, very clean and fresh. Comfortable slept 2 adults and 4 children in room with two beds and sleeper sofa. Rooms were very trendy, althouth bathroom situation in hotel rooms is kind of awkward. Doors to bathrooms didn't lock - actually had two small rooms, one with a sink and shower and the other with a sink (no towel bar) and toilet. Breakfast was good, nice variety. Indoor pool is way to small and the room is very noisy with the water coming down from the celing. Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. I'd stay here again.
