Ushaka Marine World is South Africa's equivalent to Sea World in Florida, with water park fun rides, an opportunity to dive with tropical fish and even with a few docile, smaller shark species! It includes a whole trail of shops, eateries and my favourite, the aquarium which is set inside an old ship and is beautifully laid out and designed along the ship wreck theme. Signposting is poor, so ask on arrival, but the aquarium and ticketing are right at the end and a bit of a walk from the car park. Kids find the decor exhibits as interesting as the fish in their tanks. It is really well done. Sadly one giant moray looked very squashed in his 2m tank, he is huge and can't have been very comfortable. But he other species seem well provided for in terms of spacious tanks. The penguin show is really just an info session at feeding time but interesting for this that haven't seen the African penguin before. This place offers a great day out with the family and is well worth a visit.
