Location: Not in the center of Durban but pretty close to the M4, the stadium and the nice restaurants around. Actually you can walk down to the botanical garden and walk to some nice restaurants.

Staff: Very friendly and helpful, everything we asked for was promptly done.

Food: A very generous and well tasting breakfast, if you go for the big portions you better come hungry or skip your lunch. Fresh prepared so it might take a while but sitting in the shade of the trees it was also relaxing.

Room: We had 4.2 that had a very nice balcony a large bed a good minibar and a large bathroom. As there was no divider between the shower and the rest of it be careful to do things in the right order. It was clean and hat the needed amenities but here come the two points which brought the review down to 3 stars.
Number one is that the walls are way too thin. If I can hera when the guy next door goes to the loo what can he hear.

And number two, one thing I have so far never seen in a hotel.Often you have a fan in the bathroom that goes on when the light is on, often it runs some time after,.often it does not run... but this is the first time I have ever seen the fan connected to a motion detetctor. So whenever a person goes into the bathroom it starts. No way to avoid this. And of course there is a certain chance that you wake the other person in the room with this. And sorry as per my review policy, bad sleeping quality in a hotel makes 3 stars the max it could get.

The overall design with the dogs was very nice so if you consider the two points metioned above it might make for a good hotel.

One more thing: The nices do not disturb card I have ever seen. Make sure to take a look at it when you are there.

The room 1.3 was nice, the style and the whole concept of Concierge is really interesting. It makes it one of the most interesting and enjoyable places to stay in Durban. We felt very safe and welcomed.
The breakfast is great! There are a lot of options and the combination of ingredients used is wonderful.
The staff was very friendly and helpful all the time.
The area around the Concierge is quite safe apart from one little street that leads to the hotel that is why we always took a taxi to be on the safe side. Otherwise you can enjoy plenty of restaurants around, a shopping centre and an ATM is close by!!!
Overall, the Concierge Boutique hotel was a highlight of the our stay in Durban.

Recommendation: it would be practical to rearrange the room terrace area to allow more space and less tables and add one more arm chair to relax.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the inner yard / Cafe / Car Park are quite noisy both in the morning and in the eve...

I booked a room for my husband and I via Booking.com for The Concierge. We found the room to be as described on their website and photos. It can be difficult to find as it is not well-marked/signposted- use Google Maps or a GPS. The room was not huge, but the decor was cute and the shower and bath were very spacious. A lack of good lighting in the bathroom for applying makeup as well as too few electrical sockets for charging devices are areas which could be improved upon. I also found that the area rug in our room was filthy and desperately needed to be professionally cleaned. The parking area is ample and secure. Ask for a room facing Campbell Avenue as the rooms facing the courtyard/parking area/cafe can be a bit noisy in the morning if you like to sleep in.

Room Tip: Ask for a room adjacent to Campbell Ave. - should be quieter in the morning.

The Concierge makes one feel safe and cosy in a busy and crowded Durban City. Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted by Primrose who is extremely friendly, adorable and helpful.
The room is not huge and obnoxiously spacious, but it's not cluttered. In fact, the design is modern and chic, with a lot of thought put in to ensure that most needs are met.
The room is most importantly very very clean and the bed is very very comfortable!
They have an adjunct cafe, The Freedom Cafe and it has the most awesome food ever!
I could have stayed here forever!

OMG! The Concierge Boutique Bungalows is were the "After Dinner Party" was hosted by the friendly, efficient and awesome Oliver (he worked the shift at the time). Myself and my friend had to drop off mutual friends of the bride. There were about 14 - 16 of them styaing over and some (like me, gate crashed). I loved the glass spacious showers, private balcony, colourful lights, stunning decor and most importantly the beds and bedding were to die for! I felt loke sleeping over! Curtains are the substitue for cupboards, Dstv, plasma screens, stunning mirrors, ect. The Vintage restuarant (5min walk) is halaal and they food is highly recommended.

Room Tip: I was not staying over.

If you really don't like big hotel chains - like me - this hotel Concierge near Florida Road will seem like a bit of heaven!

Getting there means small streets is a bit tricky, but once you are there security is fine.

Decor is trendy and rooms are large and they have thought of everything you may need. I love the integrated bathroom. Nice quirky feel, love the gowns.

Breakfast at the Freedom Cafe was great. Walk to Authentic India for a great dinner.

They could just get those mosquitos under control, it would be great.

This hotel is a great wee find! It's nestled off a quiet side street close to the city centre (that you have to be careful not to miss) and is very safe and a secure with plenty of parking available given the hotel's size. All of the rooms are designed in different trendy, funky styles, and are very modern and well appointed with everything you could need - the waterfall showers and comfy beds are amazing after a long day driving!

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in guiding us through our first days in Durban, and were only too happy to recommend local restaurants and provide suggestions of how we could entertain ourselves during our stay. The beach, Florida Rd and Moses Madiba were all within walking distance, or certainly less than a 100ZAR cab ride.

The real star of the hotel though was the cafe - breakfast each morning (included) was amazing! There was a great variety of fresh and healthy options as well as more local choices - and great coffee to go with.

It was a real pleasure staying here - I'll certainly be back!
