What I love most about Unity is that they also have the deep friend olives that Cafe 99 makes. I think there they have the same owners or management. Not entirely sure...

Unity is a lively bar/restaurant usually full of young professionals.

The food is good. In the past ive been left wondering what to order for main but in general have always enjoyed the food. The burgers are very good too.

Worth a visit!

Of all the pubs & restaurants in Durban, Unity stocks the greatest selection of local craft beer. Probably every craft brewery in South Africa is represented. It's relaxed with a nice vibe. The food is great value and first class for a pub - I had a perfectly done Prego Roll and chips. I will definitely visit again!

Wanting to experience something a little less touristy we met local friends at Unity for dinner. The atmosphere is relaxed yet trendy and the bespoke beers are definitely worth a try. They also do a mean Margarita.
I had the Pot Pie which was amazing and my partner had one of the burgers, which he claims is one of the best he has ever had.
Definitely worth the visit. Remember to book though

Always has some great specials, high quality meals at very reasonable prices. Tends to book out very quickly, but staff are always accommodating. Can be quite noisy if its a rainy evening and the outdoor area is closed.

Unity, run by the successful owners of Café 1999, the more up-market restaurant 3 doors away, in the quiet Berea suburban street, Silverton Road, is probably the busiest, most currently popular venue for vibrant 25-35 year-olds in Durban. The food is superior pub food and their freshly ground burgers are among the best to be found in KZN. The low-fat venison special I enjoyed was first rate, and the accompanying potato chips are a hot house special. Home-made pies in a dish, great fish and chips and other perennial favourites are all given the best treatment and independent brewery beers are popular with the throngs of cheerful fans who pack the venue nightly. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic evening, this is NOT the spot! The sound-level of happy socialisers is intense, but the vibe is uplifting and the quality food well-priced.
