The location of this hotel can't be beat. It's right across the street from the beach and right in the middle of a lot of paddling pools, arcades, and carnival rides on the promenade and within walkign distance to Ushaka Marine World. The hotel itself is fine and what is to be expected of a three star hotel. The rooms and common areas are clean and the room seemed upgraded with a flat screen TV with a good number of DSTV (cable) stations. The housekeeping services were very good and each day the maids left two cookies (nice touch). We had a sea facing room which had a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean.
Breakfast was good and had all of the fixings including an omelet station, juice bar, and fresh fruit. During the weekend they opened up additional omelet stations to keep up with the crowds.
There was an outdoor pool in the hotel but it was closed for renovations during our stay. Although there were signs that informed people about this at check-in, it would have been better if they posted this on their website when I made the reservation. In any case, given that the hotel is right on the beach and there are a number of free and paid clean public pools within walking distance this was not really a big deal.More
