Owner description: Giba Gorge MTB Park has about 45kms of trails that can be used for biking, hiking or even trail running. We have a beautiful waterfall that is only 2kms away from the main hub. We have a restaurant and a bike shop on site. Search Nosh Catering to find out more about the restaurant. We also offer team building, conferencing and kids parties.

“Bad condition bikes on hire, poorly maintained jungle gyms.”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

Hi.
Let me start by saying that if you have your own bike, then Giba Gorge is great. If you have to hire bikes like us, then I would not recommend it. The bikes available on hire are in bad condition. We hired 3 bikes, 2 which had badly adjusted gears that we battled to change gears. We ended up leaving it in high gear all the way to the waterfall and back, as we got stuck trying to change gears before. One bike had defective training wheels, resulting in my daughter falling off and getting badly hurt.

The bike shop is no longer run by Cycle Lab (who used to have decent rental bikes), and we paid high prices to rent bikes which were very disappointing.

I hope this helps others not to have the same bad experience we had.

“Out & About”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

A great day can be spent here. Picnic, was our agenda and the kids (and Adults) had a ball riding the many different trails. from major Professional mountain biking to a leisurely Sunday stroll. Definitely a days' outing or if you just want to do some training then you can be in and out in 2 hrs.

“Nice outdoor area just outside the city”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Dont let the graded road put you off because this place is beautiful and relaxing. Wide, open spaces for skating, biking or just relaxing with a braai. There's a great restaurant there. Conference venue is not the best but nice for functions rather.

“GIBA GORGE MOUNTAIN BIKES”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

My grandchildren adore this place and want to go at every opportunity. There are picnic areas, a smaller area with bumps, jumps and ramps and the main area with kilometers of trails. There is a shop and ample parking and on a nice day, is a super place to be. We have had birthday parties there as well as ordinary visits and the children always enjoy themselves.

“Lunch surrounded by green trees and sunshine”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

A great place to take your family, lots of space for children to play, kids parties and bikes can be rented as well as adult. Lunch was delicious and I had a chicken basil pesto pasta followed by there baked cheese cake which was decedent. Service is excellent and staff are friendly and attentive. Your also able to lie down with a sun downer or cocktail on a deck / lawn chair stretched out to enjoy the sun and watch the kids play. Bands play regularly and the atmosphere cheerful and relaxed.
