Had a good rest at Durban SPA . Booked 3 apartments for the family. Service at check in was smooth and friendly . Staff always willing to assist . The sea views from my balcony apartment was excellent . I felt safe , even at night to go for short walks as the is security visible at all times . The children had lots of fun in the hot pools . The rooms were clean .

Ive stayed at couple of places in Durban but this was by far the best place ever. It caters to everyone whether its a romantic getaway of some quality family time. The jacuzzi for you and your partner or playing around in the heated pool. Getting yourself a well deserved message. And to top all off that you on the beach & you close to all the attractions like U shaka marine,Sun coast casino etc

Room Tip: Rooms that have a view of the ocean

My uncle and aunt got us a week at the Durban Spa so the price was right (free). A great location close to everything that the Durban Golden Mile has to offer...Ushaka, Vendors, Beaches with Lifeguards, Restaurants, Bike Rentals, Dive shops, Grocery stores.
Security was visible and available and at no time did we feel unsafe.
The heated pool, somewhat outdated and in need of lighting and a coat of paint, was still a hit with our 8 and 10 year old.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, especially the front desk gentleman Morne.
The building and rooms themselves will be in need of renovations soon!

When I first arrived at Durban Spa I was surprised at how clean it was, after viewing some bad reviews I was expecting it to be rundown.

I got the feeling that Durban Spa was more aimed at families and not really ideal for a romantic holiday.
I enjoyed being so close to uShaka and being able to see the sunrise. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Spent 5 nights there while attending a tourism exhibition in Durban. I found the rooms to be spacious, comfortable and clean - stayed in a two bedroom, one bathroom, kitchen/lounge apartment.

I didnt use the hotels facilities so cannot comment on these but the strong chlorine smell from the pool was noticeable in the corridors and lobby.

The highlight was watching the sunrise over the Indian Ocean from the spacious balcony and my morning walks down the new and vastly improved Durban beachfront, just over the road. I felt quite safe walking along the beachfront and the OR Tambo Parade (previously known as Marine Parade) even late at night, police were always visible (though this may have been due to the Tourism Indaba). I wouldn't however recommend venturing into the streets behind the hotel on foot, particularly at night.

On site parking was safe and secure.
