“Beautiful Mosque; 1 on 1 tour”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

After reading the reviews on trip advisor... I was a bit nervous about the area. However I didn't let that put me off. I parked underground in the tourist market and went to a Muslim book shop passing muti sellers on the way... I love South Africa:) They called a guide and he gave me a tour of this very beautiful Mosque with a Koi fish pond inside. When people wash their hands to pray they can see the fish swimming below. Definitely worth a stop.

“A must visit for all Muslim travelers to Durban”
Reviewed 16 May 2013

It is the biggest mosque in the southern-hemisphere. The section of the city where it is situated is not very safe and a local should accompany visitors.

it was interesting and very serene and spiritual to visit this Islamic Centre. The people seemed courteous and respectful to Foreigners viewing the Mosque.
