just returned this morning from a trip to SA. We stayed two nights at The Goble Palms Guest House, what a delightful experience. Our room was large and airy with the balcony looking towards the Indian Ocean. The room was well decorated in an old Colonial style, very nice indeed. Breakfast was superb with all facets overseen by the owners. If you are looking for a quality family establishment in Durban then this is for you. The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing being too much trouble. inside the main building was exquisite, again decorated in the Colonial style. Our thanks to the owners for their hospitality.

Goble Palms offers the discerning traveler a perfect haven of high quality for exploring Durban and its environs. It provides extremely comfortable, well appointed en-suite rooms in the quiet area of Morningside. The verandahs, patios and pool are set in established palm clad gardens and there are pots and tubs all around and many orchids inside. The rooms and public areas are sumptuously furnished and are sublime in their inspired feelings of opulence. The breakfasts are full of variety and served with friendly charm. In fact what makes this such a pleasant stay is the warm, helpful and attentive attitude of all the staff and the welcome given by the owners. You feel luxurious in all respects and cannot fail to enjoy what is offered at this Lodge.

We instantly felt relaxed and welcoming in these lovely surroundings. Beautiful, airconditioned room with a large bathroom with Victorian bath ( also had a shower for my partner ) to soak in after a long, hot day.

The lounges are comfy and inviting and lots of lovely books to read. The Guest LOdge is close to a number of restaurants and we were given great advice and assistance from the owners.

Great service. Great place to stay.

Regularly travel to Durban on business from Cape Town and Lionel and Leeanne have created a place that I feel is a real home away from home. Personal service, comfortable rooms, great ambiance, excellent breakfasts always make for an enjoyable stay.

Living in Cape Town, people are inclined to say "why would you want to go to Durban". Well, I would go far more often if we could stay at Goble Palms! The staff were never too far away to find if needed and yet not ever in the way. They were all very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Goodman, Victor and the lovely ladies who assisted with breakfast and rooms (unfortunately, I never got their names). Leanne had to move us for one night which was handled extremely smoothly. Often when I’ve been away I can’t wait to get back to my own bed. Not in this case, I didn’t want to LEAVE my bed at GP. The rooms are very comfortable, very spacious, air conditioned, private and quiet – I could not fault them at all and honestly looking forward to going back! Special thanks to Leanne and Lionel who run such an awesome establishment. - Marylou and Bryan

Set in tranquil Northern Durban, close to the two big sport stadiums, this is home away from home in Durban. I use this lovely guest house regularly since 2005 and has never been disappointed. From the moment you are welcomed right through to a hearty breakfast on the stoep overlooking the bay, you don't feel like you are away from home. Beautifully decorated rooms with Victorian bathrooms, lounges with complimentary sherry, broad veranda's with comfortable couches and the use of internet and secure parking, makes this my preferred stay in Durban. The owner, Lionel, will personally take your order at breakfast and you may even find him in the honesty bar having a chat to guests. Awesome stay!
