Wow, what food. Don't worry about being hungry - or too full actually, they're very happy to wrap up a takeaway :) Enjoy the friendly welcome, be impressed by the menu, enjoy a beautiful steak cooked just the way you like it. If they don't have it or it's not ready, they'll take you round and *show* you what they recommend you have instead. Plus they know which wines on the list will go with which steaks - a sign of true pride in your establishment. Oh and they actually have a whisky rack. No single malts from the Highlands of Scotland, but it's a decent selection :)
Now for the small gripe: from that point of placing your order, the senior waiting staff are much too hot on the heels of the juniors (all too common in SA). It's very noticeable and a bit off-putting when you're trying to enjoy a perfect steak, hearing staff being told to come check our drinks, when the glasses are clear and therefore obviously still full. Get over yourselves and let your staff work, and you've got that 5th star.
But, please don't let that put you off for the steak. Or the onion rings. Or the salad - the biltong salad actually is a meal in itself if you go for 3 courses (and I don't say that lightly), though it makes a great lunch if you don't finish it. Just if you want to take away the veg (surprisingly also beautifully done, they take pride in everything that's on your plate), be sure to specify you want *everything* wrapped!
