Staff were friendly, rooms were located in the bush which was nice however the dirt path to carry luggage and walk through needs to be tarred or gravelled, breakfast was very basic and repeatitive, not very "african" and sort of lazily done, there is nothing to do at the lodge so travelling needs to be done on a 10k dirt road to do any activities. This was difficult in the rain as the road was muddy and skidding etc was dangerous ,,no pool etc within the lodge and jacuzzi had no cover so could not be used as it was full of insects as its in the bush.nice animals can be viewed at entrance and exit of the lodge. Rooms were neat, however the blinds serve no purpose as you can see right through from the inside which made sleeping tough when the sun came up, the glass windows are nice but also made the room as hot as an oven when the electricity went out with the storm and sleeping without fan or a.c was horrible.overall a neat place but could do with a little upgrading as it has a lot of potential, for the price it was not bad but then again other lodges in the area are priced similarly that are more modern and value for money.sindy and rob friendly and accommodating and could definitely do very well on a larger scale with some facilities and activities to draw guests

My daughter & I chose to stay at this venue as a stop over on our way home from Kruger Park. We loved the setting which we classified as luxury in the bush. We had booked on a B & B basis so were very happy to find out that dinner had been arranged for us. The staff were very efficient and helped us to our room under a canopy of coastal sand forest. The rooms have wonderful privacy and it was exciting to see animal tracks all around, and later we met some of the resident zebras when they came calling. We were lucky to meet the owners and they regaled us with stories of the resident wildlife. The room we stayed in was gorgeous and very comfortable with unique decor. Unfortunately we did not stay long enough to make use of the jacuzzi or the local sights, as we were just passing through. A hearty breakfast was served the next morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our night there and could continue our journey refreshed and rested.

Room Tip: Our room was called "Spirit of the Forest" and was lovely, with an outside jacuzzi bath.

We drove for 3 hours from Durban to the venue, looked at it and drove straight back to Durban!!
We received a gift from my daughter of a night's accommodation in Lepard Walk Lodge's 'honeymoon suite' and after checking out the web site were thrilled. We asked my wife's parents to join us and booked one of the cheaper rooms (R740 pn!) for them. We drove from Durban to Hluhluwe (a 3 hour drive) and took a trip around the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi game reserve on our way. On arrival at the very remote 'lodge' we parked and walked through the sand forest to the 'lodge' building (a covered verandah that is also the restaurant), reception (a desk in a niche) and the bar (in a corner of the verandah). A lady appeared out of the forest, introduced herself and said she would show us to our rooms. We went to my in-laws room first - a long walk through the forest paths especially for 80 year olds and carrying luggage. The room was like a backpackers room, tiny and smelly and with nowhere to sit outside - no airconditioner, no TV. In one corner of the clearing was a defunct swimming pool. Our 'honeymoon' room was entirely in the other direction and even further through the forest. It was better (at double the price) but cheaply put together. We asked the lady to call the owner while we waited in the room. Alittle while later we were summoned to the lodge building (who is the customer?) as the owner had appeared and could see us. We explained we were dissatisfied and drove back to Durban - could not stay there !!!

We are disappointed about this review by Gordon Collins.

Hayley Collins made a reservation for her parents (A gift.) Subsequently her mother made an additional reservation for an extra room at a lower price. The difference in accommodation types was explained.

On arrival Mr. Collins became very upset because his Secrets of the Forest A+Suite was "in the bush" and had no TV in his suite, (We have Television at the main Lodge as our Ethos is “Peace and tranquility in the Bush” - thus no TV in the Suites). His parents Room was not to the same standard as his. The difference in accommodation was clearly explained to the guest when booking the additional room. Mr. Collins demanded a full refund for the entire booking, suggesting that he would give a bad review if we did not refund him in full. Mr. Collins was extremely agitated and would not entertain any reasonable discussion.

The lodge was full for that night, and should we have had a spare Room would have gladly upgraded the cheaper accommodation at no extra charge. We have had numerous guests enjoy both Buffalo Thorn and Secrets of the Forest suites, even over that weekend.

I explained to Mr. Collins that same day cancellations were not refundable according to our policy and we had declined other bookings for the two rooms that they had booked.

We requested that Mr. Collins to email so that we could settle on a solution. We had also been prepared to offer a double night voucher in Secrets of the Forest, as a re conciliatory gesture.

We are extremely disappointed with the outcome. We feel that this review is more about the guests failed attempt to solicit a refund.

We had booked into the cheaper rooms and on arrival were upgraded to the more expensive rooms as they werent occupied. We were very impressed by the rooms - very comfortable beds, soft sheets, clean and cosy! We had an out door jacoozi (spa bath) and it was so quiet and peaceful. This would have all been very nice if we were a honey moon couple wanting to do nothing but stay in bed however we wanted some nature walks or game drives but were told that we had to go to a game park to do any of these things which meant getting in the car and driving to hluhluwe imfolozi or false bay. Then we went for dinner, which we were told was a buffet however there was only one choice of food and the cook dishing up didnt pay attention when we tried to tell her how much to dish up so we both ended up with a pile of food on our plate. Unfortunately it was rather disappointing. The meat - steak, boerewors and lamb - was very over cooked, the pap (which not many are used to) was very dry and the beans were from a tin. The breakfast was much better however there is no point in the cook asking how you like your eggs done if she only knows how to do them hard !
We did see some zebras, impalas and inyalas very close. We even had a zebra come stick her head right into the car window!
I can highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet place to spend the night but be careful if you stay in the cheaper rooms as they are a big step down from the fancy more expensive rooms.

Room Tip: The more expensive rooms/lodges are definately worth the extra money. The cheaper rooms are dark, gloomy and all next to each other so no privacy.

W arrived at Leopard Walk Lodge greeted by a staff member, she gave us our keys and we had to take our own luggage to the room, down a dirt path, then we found that there was no elecricity.
The buffet consisted on a Chicken a la king and bobotie, did not look at all appetising, so we braaied our own meat. The owner took our money (paid up front ) and went on holiday with his wife. The place was deserted apart from four tame zebra. It took 24 hrs to get the lights on. The Lodge is 30 klms from game park, oh and also to get to the lodge you have to drive on a dirt road.
I would definetly NOT RECOMEND this place.
FLIGHTCENTRE recomended this place.
