We'd been travelling for a bit so it was nice to get to some where offering some serious relaxation. The Inn's in a great location, everything's on one level and you move seamlessly from the entrance through the lounge out into the marvellous gardens. The public areas and bar are open to the outside and give a great feeling of space. Rooms and bathroom were fine with nothing to complain about. Usual, very filling, buffet breakfast. The restaurant also served a buffet in the evening which received mixed opinions so a number of our group went to the sports club next door for drinks and food (gate in the fence just to right of front gate). The sports club served good basic food, from a wall-sized menu, expertly cooked and ridiculously cheap.

Ghost Mnt Inn, is just what it says. A country inn in Northern Zululand, a lovely African hotel without the over the top junk that people try and portray as been African country style. This is not Europe, or some flashy place that you could be anywhere in the world....... Ghost country in holds its character and charm this way. Emphasised by their very friendly and helpful Zulu staff and relaxed atmosphere. Lead graciously by general manager Gareth.
Fantastic gardens and birdwatching opportunities, as well as Zulu cultural activities to enchant you for a couple of days.
Thumbs up from me!

I expected a bit more, going by many of the reviews here. Although there is nothing wrong, I also did not really find anything exceptional. The hotel is in a beautiful location, the staff are wonderful, the room we stayed in was OK, clean and comfortable, but not amazing, the gardens are beautiful. But I missed something amazing, something extra to allow for five stars in my review.
The surrounding area is really beautiful and the views towards Ghost Mountain are stunning, and I would recommend a stay here, one does get a bit of an Out of Africa feeling.

This was our third stop on a charity bike ride through Swaziland and Northern KZN and certainly the best of our accommodation. We spent 3 nights at the Inn. It has a stunning location in the shadow of Ghost Mountain and the area is naturally beautiful. The rooms are not of the highest standard but certainly comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The food and service were excellent. Most definitely a place that I will come back to one day. The northern part of KZN has many natural attractions and an interesting history which I would want to explore in more detail. I would like to see 4 star establishments extend their Wi-Fi service to the rooms rather than just a lobby area.

Dear JohanMoolman,
Thank you very much for your review. We had loads of fun hosting your charity bike ride.
Just a note about the WIFI, due to our remote location we lag behind in terms of connectivity and we have just got ADSL in Mkuze a few weeks ago! We are currently investigating options of expanding coverage throughout the hotel.
In terms of your room, we need to makes sure that we get you into a Garden room next time.
Look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Craig

We spent two nights in a superior room and did a game drive in Mkuze. The hotel was terrific, our room and bath were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the evening buffet was good -- though we opted for the "half" buffet (just one entree) at a more moderate price, which we appreciated. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Jean made the arrangements for our full-day Mkuze game drive, with Bheki as our ranger. She also made the reservations for our guided hike through the Mkuze fig forest. It was all very nice, and Bheki had a special expertise in identifying the birds at Mkuze. If you like birds, ask Jean to arrange for Bheki as your ranger. Jean also arranged for us to take a packed lunch on our game drive, which turned out to be quite good. Overall, if you are in the area of Mkuze, I would absolutely recommend the Ghost Mountain Inn, and be sure to ask Jean for help planning your area activities.

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and this definitely wasn't the most luxurious or exceptional accommodation. Compared to other places, Ghost Mountain Inn is quite big with many guests and the rooms are quite standard. However, staff was friendly and the food we were served was really very nice. The activities that we participated in were really great. We took the boat cruise in the morning and saw so many animals (crocs, hippos, ostriches, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, vultures etc etc). In the afternoon we went on a bird walk with Adam which was very interesting as well. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Ghost Mountain Inn!

We booked our stay here in a package through a travel agent so cannot really comment on value for money

The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. Great shower. Wifi in the lobby was fast. An excellent cultural experience with Zulu dancers. Tasty meals. Gracious staff which made us feel special. The bar does not know how to make a Bloody Mary, but you can't have everything!
