Just returned from a couple nights there over the Easter Weekend. 2 adults 2 kids.

Ticks most boxes! Some very inviting spaces in the common spaces of the hotel. The outside garden's really inviting as well. Rooms are good. Kitchen very ably run with an ample variety that's all very tasty! All the staff across the board had great attitude and spirit!

We will definitely return if our travels take us out that way and we are looking for a catered option!

Thank you for your review and I have passed your comments on to everybody. I am glad you enjoyed your waster as much as we did. My highlight has to be the sight of Chef hopping through the gardens with the kids.

Hoping to see you again sometime soon

For once the description given by Booking.com for our room completely understated the sheer size, the number of indoor and outdoor facilities and the depth of feeling of luxury – we are increasingly well travelled especially since retirement and to date in all our travels nothing has come close to this room – double wow to the power of 10.

Booked this accommodation in September 2016 as part of a 30+ day trip to South Africa – tried to vary the cost and luxury of each stop – this one was a more expensive one and my choice was a suite – little did I know it was the only one in the hotel!!!!

We stayed in room 50 – the Suite – for 2 nights from 27 March 2017

We had had email correspondence before arrival about trips and excursions – had been booked in by Bea for a lake cruise in the am and a game-drive in the pm of our second day.

We arrived early having escaped from Vryheid and were warmly welcomed from the off – check in was a breeze – Bea then took over updating our arrangements handling our bags with a running commentary on all the facilities menus and opportunities and took us to our Suite which is the furthest room from reception.

She let us into the room and the wows began and continued to the outdoor shower – more will be said…..but Booking.com had completely undersold this room …

So to the suite – basically 6/7 different areas – lobby with hanging and storage space – hot drinks station - toilet and shower off lobby – lounge sofa and chair TV and table lamps – fan and ac - french windows to outside patio with chairs and low level tables which were ideal for evening drinks - double doors to bedroom with very large and very comfy bed TV ac fan - behind bed is storage and dressing area which opens onto an area with a water feature – french doors to the front to the sunbathing area with 2 loungers – through to bathroom – bath and separate toilet - good quality toiletries and loads of towels – then through a glass door into walk-in shower – most powerful to date – well controlled and constant heat - and then through another glass door into an area with the open air shower – all this experience is rounded off with views of garden and the mountain beyond – I have added photos to aid this description – all that is lacking is a plunge pool or hot tub – just being greedy

In room Wi-Fi worked well for emails and browsing on the first afternoon but deteriorated during our stay and failed the newspaper download test

The public areas are just as attractive with a well-appointed dining room, a casual seating area with sofas, the Terrace Bar with tables and chairs and offering a decent menu for lunch - opposite the bar is the pool

Eating – dinner – went for a la carte option – both nights well-cooked tasty and seasoned and decent portions – plus a good glass of wine - lunch from menu – again well cooked and tasty - breakfast – extensive buffet plus egg station – difficult not to be satisfied

Trips – boat cruise on Lake – Shiree was our guide whilst Isaac steered the boat – lots to see – relaxing morning’s cruise – afternoon went on a game drive within Mkusi National Park – hot afternoon – game was hiding – some animals spotted but nothing of Big 5 – nothing Isaac could do – the game was not here – decent vehicles – water provided but no sundowners as we have to be out of the Park by sunset

Spa – good – African massage – full hour on first afternoon – medium pressure verged on physical assault – whimp - but felt very relaxed afterwards – certainly no knots left unpummelled – masseuse engaging and professional – good value experience

Conclusion – good hotel – big group staying – but our paths only crossed briefly – all staff helpful and engaging – Ray Bea and Patience – special mention – our room was very good – bed very large and comfy – food good as was service – it is evidently popular and comes recommended – thank you

A 2 night stay in this delightful hotel .Warm and welcoming staff. Large clean bathrooms with a beautiful rainwater shower head. Very comfortable beds and a lovely outlook from the patio. Fantastic food. An interesting place in which to wander the grounds and see colourful birds in the lagoon. The library and original old photos are really interesting to take notice of. Comfortable common lounge areas in which to sit and read or just relax.

Room tip: Ask for a room closer to the dining areas.

This hotel has nice large & clean rooms and bathrooms with a separate shower as well as a bath. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is good and not expensive. The room I was in had great views with a patio door to a outside private area.

We were there with a Titan Group for 3 nights much needed rest after several 1 night stays. We started off in a tiny room with nowhere to put anything, so we complained and the next 2 nights we had a much larger room, but the shower flooded the floor! The staff were very nice about our problems, but were unable to solve them! Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there so we didn't really use the pool. On the Saturday the pool area was full of local families with small children who had come to spend the day.
