“Secluded Lunch break”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

Menu and presentation outstanding - garden needs some work, also a little pricey. But worth a visit, especially with mom.

“Great Lunch in stunning Garden”
Reviewed 31 December 2011

Whilst working in Pietermaritzburg, Rosehurst became a favorite lunch spot. It is quite central, but a little tricky to find. An old Victorian house that now is home to whole range of quirky shops, from chocolate over knickknack to feather boas. Once you are through the house though a stunning garden opens up. What a delight. Am no expert in gardens, but it is a formal sort of Victorian garden with water features and a little cottage that houses a bookshop.

The menu is quite small, with a focus on healthy options. Not a place for a steak, but more simple like sandwiches on fresh health breads, or fresh soup with freshly made juices. Service is a little slow, but when sitting outside in the garden one doesn’t really mined that much.
Not a place for a power lunch, but somewhere to really relax with good, fresh food in glorious surroundings. Service could be a bit more professional and some of the chairs are a little uncomfortable, but otherwise great place.
