Thank you for taking the time to submit your review on Anchor's Rest. It was good meeting you and being able to show you warm hospitality and personalised service the South African way. We so enjoy meeting people from overseas and hearing news from other parts of the world.
We trust you enjoyed the rest of your holiday in S.A. and that you will return for another memorable holiday.

Warm regards
Cilla and Peter Rose

We stayed for 5 idyllic days in the glorious haven perched on the hill, a view of the sea over Bougainvillea hedges and Hibiscus trees waving in the breeze. I knew from the website that the rooms and facilities would be more than delightful and entirely suitable for our needs, but I didn't anticipate the endless additional amenities and considerations which made our stay more than comfortable. Beach umbrellas, pool towels, sufficient crockery and cutlery, hair dryers and lavender drawer sachets, scented candles and magazines changed on a weekly basis. A wealth of fresh white towels, a glorious breakfast worth wresting oneself from the pristine linen, and hosts who bent over backwards to ensure we had what we needed. Our rooms were spacious, very clean, and cheerful. The bathroom vast, soaps and shampoos refilled daily, secure parking and an easy stroll to the action, a thoroughly delightful interlude.

Thank you so much for your most eloquent review. It was an absolute pleasure having you and your mom stay at Anchor's Rest whilst on your journey down memory lane to your land of birth. It was great chatting to the two of you and finding out about life in Canada and Carolina. We would love to have the opportunity to visit you both one day and see your beautiful countries.

We were delighted that you enjoyed all of our extra touches at the Guest House as we so enjoy spoiling our guests and seeing that they are well cared for.

We certainly hope we will see you and your mom - and perhaps your family at Anchor's Rest as it would be wonderful to meet the rest of the family.

Warm regards
Cilla, Peter and Sandy

Excellent accommodation, highly recommended. We stayed for 2 nights at the start of our trip and when we had a problem with where we were staying for the final night in that area, we came back to Anchors Rest for that night. As a result, we stayed in two different rooms, both of which were very high quality and excellent value. The proprietors and manager were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were great, with a wide choice. There is also an 'honesty bar' with a good selection of drinks available. The location is very good, just a few minutes walk from shops, bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: The Strelizia Room has it's own patio which was nice to sit out on with a glass of wine

We are delighted that you and your daughter enjoyed the time spent at Anchor's Rest and that you also enjoyed the facilities of Umhlanga Rocks, which is a great place for a holiday. Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Anchor's Rest, which we really appreciate.

You and I didn't enjoy the humidity and prefered the occasional slightly cooler days, but this is where Umhlanga Rocks gets it's name from "The Sunshine Coast" as you get lots of heat and sunshine here in the summer.

We are already looking forward to seeing both of you back here for this year's festive season and will keep your usual room for you.

Warm regards
Cilla and Peter

My daughter and I stayed at this Guest House for 9 days during the Hollydays. We had a very pleasant and roomy self catering unit (Yellowwood room) with a very quiet and private patio. The pool area was always clean and inviting for a dipp. The common living areas were comfortable and had a wonderful view which we enjoyed. The staff was always helpfull and friendly. The Guest House had a great and sentral location with only a few minutes walk to the Village and the beach. In the Village there are plenty of restaurants and shops.
The hosts Cilla and Peter were very pleasant and helpfull. They were good at giving us advice as to activities and places to visit.
Thank you very much for a wonderfull stay and we even have plans on returning in the near future.

We enjoyed mostly the privacy of our room. Very self contained and beautifully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and comfortable bedroom. The hosts were warm and friendly and all in all the B&B was well located although a bit of a walk to the beach and restaurants. We would definitely consider another stay.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that you would like to return for another visit.

We do have a lot of regular guests as they also appreciate the privacy of the large guest rooms and the furnishings and fittings, which does make for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

When you next come to stay with us, we hope that you will find your stroll into the centre of Umhlanga easier, as the Guest House is 200 metres from about 20 restaurants and 400 metres from the beach. On a hot day, walking anywhere isn't too pleasant however and Umhlanga does have many, hot humid days in summer.

It was a pleasure having you stay with us and we look forward to seeing you again.

I stayed here for only one night on route to the battlefields of Natal, my only regret is that i didn't stay longer!
The accomodation was perfect - clean, homely and ideally located to enable me to walk within a few minutes into the village which has a host of great places to relax.
Breakfast was excellent and Peter was the perfect host, providing local information when i needed it.
If you're after accomodation in this area look no further!

Thank you for your great review. It's always so pleasing for us when our guests enjoy staying at Anchor's Rest and just as importantly, that they enjoy the facilities of Umhlanga, of which there are many to enjoy.

You are one of the many guests who have complimented us on our wonderful breakfasts, so thank you for mentioning the great breakfasts.

Peter is indeed a fountain of knowledge about the area and loves sharing information with guests so as to enhance their stay in our 'little piece of paradise'.

Next time, please do stay with us longer, so that we can get to know you better.

Warm regards
