I hadn't tried this branch before as the outlet I used to go to had closed.
I asked the waiter if they had oysters and tuna sashimi - which they did - and also asked if both were fresh - which I was assured they were.
However on arrival the oysters were warm - despite sitting on a bed of ice - where on earth had they been sitting - and they didn't taste fresh. The sushimi wasn't fresh either. Seafood/fish restaurant staff need to understand their product and the danger of selling seafood that is not fresh. In this instance we suffered no ill effects but certainly didn't enjoy the food. The main course platter was fine.
We had a similar experience with John Dory's at Suncoast, Durban the same week.
In future we'll stick to Cape Town Fish Market where we have always experienced fresh quality food.
