My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at Teremok. we enjoyed a spa treatment on the Saturday. I had the full body massage and my wife had the pregnancy massage.

The Breakfast was incredible -- eggs benedict.

Professional service and a good DVD library. "Salmon fishing in the Yemen" while my wife had a sleep after the massage. Great for a local getaway.

Room Tip: Most rooms are sea facing, but they also have a couple rooms on the ground floor which are better fo...

We stayed at Teremok Lodge during the Durban July weekend. I absolutely loved everything about this room. The ocean theme is perfect and the attention to detail impressive. Our room was large and had a beautiful bath. The toiletries provided were plentiful and smelled lovely. The coffee stations had everything you might need and I enjoyed the biscotti and carrot muffins provided. Breakfast was top notch and the chef even prepared a salmon salad for me on the second morning when this was what I felt like having for breakfast. I found some interesting books in the library and it is worth spending some time in this little nook.

The lodge is located just a few minutes from the beach and the forest/beach hike was one of the highlights of my weekend.

I did not have time for a spa treatment but the staff seemed knowledable and friendly.

I would not hesitate to recommend this lodge to friends and hope to stay here again in the future. I have stayed at most of the 5 star rated accommodation provided in Durban and must confess that Teremok is in a class of its own.

Room Tip: Stayed on lower level and did not have a view but the room was so pretty I did not even notice.

We spent one night at Teremok as we were down in Umhlanga for business. The rooms are very well appointed. They are large and roomy with modern fixtures and very comfortable beds. My only complaint was the light coming in the skylight but they even supply eye covers.

Great snacks and an honesty bar, and even though it is not directly overlooking the sea, because it is on a hill there is a lovely breeze and you still have a fair view of the sea. The dining room looks through indigenous bush and the food was excellent (try the muesli for breakfast).

We spent an excellent four nights here and had the most fantastic stay.

Our room was beautiful, exquisitely designed with some lovely touches and the beds were really comfortable too. The bathroom was fantastic, double basins, huge shower, free standing bath etc and really nice toiletries. Other thoughtful goodies in the room included a beach bag and towels, insect repellent etc. Although there's no tea & coffee facilities or mini bar in the room, there are two tea and coffee stations available to guests all day so you can help yourself throughout the day. There is also an honesty bar which we found to be very reasonably priced. The lounge area and terraces were really lovely, with views across the garden and beyond to the sea. There's good wifi throughout too. We didn't try the spa as it was already fully booked throughout our stay by the time we arrived - it isnt open in the evenings. If this is of interest to you, book in advance!

The large open windows in the breakfast room made it a great place to enjoy the fantastic breakfasts on offer every morning. Breakfast comprised fresh juices, absolutely gorgeous homemade museli, fruit and fresh baked bread and muffins amongst other things. Hot options were cooked freshly to order in the open kitchen and there were several different choices on each day of our stay, although I'm sure staff would have happily provided others if requested. There's no restaurant but there are plenty of options nearby.

In terms of location, its less than 5mins walk to the beach and the south end of the new promenade path. Its less than 15 mins walk to the village centre, although after dark we took advantage of the free transport provided by Teremok to and from the village each evening to eat.

All the staff we came across were excellent - friendly and helpful and did their utmost to make our stay the most enjoyable and relaxed possible. Thank you to everyone at the excellent Teremok and also to our fab travel agent Africa Rose for recommending it to us in the first place. We loved it and hope to make it back one day!

We really enjoyed our stay here in the amazingly decorated rooms. Our daughter felt like a princess in the Juliet room. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and it would have been nice to stay longer but we had a flight from Durban airport (a short drive away) the next day. The staff were particularly helpful in finding a nearby restaurant and driving us there and back and there's a great library of DVDs to borrow. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was lovely and a little more unusual with freshly prepared items that you don't get with the standard hotel buffet. The only improvement that could have been made for us would have been facilities in the room to make a cup of tea or coffee. You can go and get it downstairs or have it delivered to the room, but we would have preferred the privacy and convenience of making our own in the room.
