The Guest House is right on the top of the dunes, as the name suggests. Several rooms have terraces overlooking the beach, and there are steps down to the beach. It is a simply stunning place to stay. The Indian Ocean breakers were pounding away all night, but I found that soothing.
There is also a swimming pool and terrace with loungers, but clearly that's more useful in the summer. I found a warm sunny spot on a lounger to read and before long the manager appeared with a cushion.
Our rooms were exceptionally well equipped and comfortable, with everything you could have possibly desired; safe, robes, coffee maker, kettle, fridge, sofa, excellent shower and bath, super large bath, etc.
The public rooms were very comfortable, and a fire was lit in the evening which made a really cosy place for a nightcap.
Breakfast was excellent, in an airy room, with a delicious platter of fruits, a cooked breakfast, which was very well done, and all manner of other options, including cheese, ham, etc. You could help yourself to a wide variety of teas, make more toast, and the service was excellent.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the manager was very attentive. It's a slick operation, which I would recommend to anyone who fancies a bit of luxury by the seaside, at whatever time of year.More
