My hubby and I chose to stay at The Fairy Knowe for our honeymoon. We'd never been away to the garden route before so I honestly didn't know what to expect.

I must say though, the service, people, staff, rooms, views were unbelievable!
Everyone is just so welcoming and warm. I mean I'm from Cape Town, so it is a tad bit unusual to experience this type of hospitality...and it wasn't just inside the resort.

I'd definitely recommend this lovely getaway, whether it's for a group of friends, couples (young and old), family, and even backpackers.

Thanks to all the staff at The Fairy Knowe for making my stay there exceptionally wonderful.

I sure hope to visit soon :)

Very cozy but the rooms need some upgrading and especially some heating during winter months. Nice location on riverbank. Would suggest to request room with river view. Staff very friendly & helpful. Good quality food.

This is an old hotel so understandably the rooms are not as modern as some hotels. Still, our sunny groundfloor room was large, with an adequate en suite. (Really good power shower) We also had a second bedroom as a bonus. Breakfast selection was extensive and tasty. The supper menu was written on blackboards (no prices displayed though) and the quality of our food on the night we ate there was average. The location is perfect, on the riverbank, with plenty of walks for nature lovers. There is a small swimming pool and paddle boats for use on the river. The beach is a 5 minute drive away.We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Very pleasant stay. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequate but could do with some improvements. It was rather cold so for winter some extra comforts would go well in the room.

This place is very old, but I had a comfortable stay. There is no heater or aircon in the room, which was a problem as it was very cold when I stayed there. But, there is a nice fireplace at the bar facility that is in the main entrance. The room had a kettle with coffee, tea, sugar, etc. and a flat screen TV with various channels to choose from. My room (33) was able to accommodate a family of 4/5 people, so it was very big. The toilet was separate from the bathroom, which had a bath and
shower tap over the bath.
This facility also has a swimming pool, tennis facilities, river boats and caters for some pleasant summer fun. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to the "not-so-fussy" adventurer.

Room Tip: Stay in the rooms facing the river ... for a great summer experience
