We, a family of 4, spent 2 nights in Manor Guest House in Wilderness. The rooms were wonderful with an interior and fine touch for details that makes the rooms to an essential part of the stay. The rooms are large enough to spend the evenings in. However, the living rooms are also very nice and you will appreciate every moment there. The hosts, JD and Gerald, makes every effort to make your stay pleasant. They gave us good advices about what to do and where to dine.

My brother and I had occasion to spend a night here in November 2011 on our way from the Western Cape to the Eastern Cape.
The guest house is immaculate and the hosts, JD and Gerald, were welcoming, friendly and ultra-efficient.
It costs a little more than nearby guest houses in Wilderness, but worth every penny.
I look forward to returning with my wife in the near future. i have promised her that it is an exceptional experience.

This is a wonderful guest house, very cozy with large rooms and lots of ambience. The view from our room was fantastic – the lagoon is right across the street and it's an easy walk to the center of town and the ocean.

I've stayed at a different five star in Wilderness and found this inn just so much more welcoming and comfortable. The hosts, Gerald and JD, are very guest-focused and made our stay there a great experience.

Room Tip: Rooms are spacious. Ours was on the top floor and faced the lagoon.

We stayed at Wilderness Manor from 16-18th Nov and after a 4 hour drive from Hermanus were greeted by Gerald and JD with a welcome drink. They were extremely friendly and took time out to talk to us and explain about the surrounding areas.JD also offered to book a restaurant for us for the evening and we decided on The Girls. The food did not disappoint it was probably one of the best meals we had during our trip. We were shown to our room and it was absolutely beautiful , it overlooked the lagoon and the view was spectacular. The room was tastefully decorated , spacious and extremely clean with tea/coffee making facilities and a safe. We had a balcony and it was wonderful being able to sit out ,admire the view and watch the sun set. The first floor of this house is for use by the guests and it has lots of books and helpful information about South Africa along and various other topics. My husband was celebrating his 50th birthday and Gerald and JD gave us some lovely sparkling wine and chocolates that we enjoyed at the Map of Africa nearby. Breakfast at the Manor was varied and tasty and everything was cooked exactly to the individuals taste. Wilderness has a wonderful beach, great forest walks and lovely restaurants. The hospitality extended by Gerald and JD made this one of our favourite places in South Africa and we were genuinely sad having to leave. The hosts at this property go out of their way to make sure everything is just right and strive for perfection - in our eyes they have achieved it !

Room Tip: We requested a lagoon facing room at the time of booking and it was beautiful.

It was really wonderful staying at this beautiful guesthouse. Gerald and JD let us feel at home and we could just relax and enjoy their hospitality. Breakfast was well planned and delicious. They booked our dinner reservation at one of the restaurants which we really appreciated. Thank you Gerald and JD for a wonderful stay. Best wishes. Anso and Rita

We were delighted with our stopover in Wilderness. The co-owner, Gerald, was really helpful and informative - the guest house was immaculately furnished and in a wonderful location overlooking the lagoon. Room was beautiful with a four-poster bed and it was an easy walk into the small town of Wilderness to eat in the evening. All this within a stone's throw of the main Garden Route motorway.

Recently made a return visit to Wilderness Manor. Our hosts JD and Gerald run a really tight ship, everything was just perfect. We wanted for nothing. Breakfast was truly amongst the best we’ve had anywhere. The rooms are very spacious, and beautifully furnished and spotless. We had pre diner drinks each evening in the guest’s first floor sitting room, overlooking the beautiful lagoon. Wilderness itself is the perfect base for visiting the garden route. We had day trips to Knysna, Plett, Natures Valley and Storms River. The local restaurants are great especially “The Girls” it was so good we ate their twice! We absolutely loved our stay here and cannot recommend it highly enough.
