I go to the George/ Knysna area every 8 weeks on business (and have for the past 2 and a half years), and stay at Xanadu every time. It is so luxurious, quiet, relaxing and beautiful that I don't even want to look elsewhere. Highly, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are first choice.

Overnight stop on route to Port Elizabeth. Spent about 5 min. looking for correct turn off. (I had no GPS) After slow response to knocking on arrival had no further complaints. Room extremely well equipped and comfortable with good views. Will return again when in area. HIGHLY recommended with good breakfast.

My dear Friend,
This establishment is rather large , best plan is not to knock ,chances are that this will not be heard , rather use the electric BELL at the front door next time!!
Our front door stands wide open most of the time , feel free to just walk right in.
Regards,
Albert.

We stayed in a large suite with a spectacular view of the sea--lovely deck and very elegant furnishings. However, we were there in late June and it was very chilly. There was a wall heating/AC unit in the bedroom but it was noisy. The second room of the suite with bathroom and dressing room was huge, unheated, and very chilly. A large suite needs a better heating system in winter as the floor to ceiling windows make the rooms even chillier in winter without adequate heating. Breakfast was OK-- however, I would have expected fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh bread at an upscale, expensive B and B.

Dear Valerie,
Sorry that you felt cold , as you mentioned the A/C do heating . but don't adjust it to full blast . If the fan is operated at a lower speed it is almost silent. What about the electric blanket on the bed, did you make use of it? If you had mentioned any request for additional heating , or any other requirement , we would have gladly complied , extra heaters etc.The soy milk you requested when booking was in your room's barfridge and at the breakfast table , not so?
If you don't bring to our attention any aspect of your stay that you are not 100% satisfied with ; we cannot take steps to rectify.
Be assured that you are the first and only guest ,ever in the ten years of everyday usage of that suite , that complained about the heating.?
How can you state that the orange juice was not freshly squeezed just because you did not see it happen? As a matter of interest we do buy freshly squeezed orange juice in bulk , no preservatives added , same way we buy our milk in bulk and not having to milk the cow before breakfast for the guests that don't drink soy milk.
As ever and always your committed to excellence in service provision to every guest:-Albert & Tersia. "Your wish is our command!"

Xanadu has been our perfect holiday destination for the past four years. This place is truly magnificent and the views are breathtaking – the luxurious rooms, beautiful décor and attention to detail are exquisite and we’ll never get tired of this place. Albert & Tersia are attentive and gracious hosts - they have enormous respect for their guests’ need for seclusion and privacy but are always there if you need assistance. Their hospitality is what makes us go back every year. We feel blessed to spend family time in such a gorgeous setting. It is our home away from home! We'll be back this year without a doubt! Dear Friends,
Your review leaves us in two minds ; on the one hand we feel very humble and honored by the positive and well meant review , on the other I am quite nervous on how we can improve- no doubt Tersia will find a number of ways!!
As a wise man said: "Success is not a destination , it is a journey."
Glad that the path of our journey has had the good fortune to cross with yours , several times.
Keep on with the journey.
Kind Regards,
Albert & Tersia.

Me and my wife stayed here for 5 nights and it was the best.
The place is great with amazing view. The hosts are great and we loved them, they know exactly what we need and always mad us feel home. Breakfast was simple yet tasty. The facilities was better than expected.

We stayed at the Presidential room and it was amazing. The room was really big with the best view of the ocean. The bathroom was simply great with a good size Jacuzzi right on the ocean view. The room had everything you need down to a good coffee machine although we preferred to have our coffee down with the hosts. Internet is free but slow.

Alot of things to do in the area and very great restaurants few minutes away. Albert will help you with that for sure.

In winter they have a special rate was great. For other seasons its a little bit expensive but worth it.

Overall amazing experience and I would stay there for sure.

Room Tip: If you want the best view and some privacy get the Presidential room.
