“A wonderful venue”

Fairmont Zimbali really is a special venue. The view from the lobby out to sea is stunning on a beautiful day.
Rooms are a good size with reasonable services. Probably likely for a refurb soon as some look tired. Views from balconies from third floor upward are lovely.
Service from guests services manager and reception team was excellent. Nothing to much trouble and we gave some requests that weren't everyday!
Food and beverage is ok with good service.
Excellent location for a relaxing weekend or to enjoy the golf course.

A few of us booked into this luxurious hotel for a weekend to get away from the Joburg buzz.... we arrived to a magnificent looking place, blended with nature in true 5* style. The swimming pool (that looks endless), the pretty walkways (to the individually located rooms / chalets) and the chest of drawers (at the foot of the king sized beds) were all stunning features I loved. We were treated with outstanding service from our personal butlers to our rooms and we pretty much spend the weekend in our complimentary robes & slippers as we strolled between rooms to enjoy wine & fruit sticks served to us and every so often to the spa to be treated from top to toe in lavish luxury, whilst the boys went to play a round of golf. Definitely worth another visit!

We have been going to Fairmont Zimbali for years and we have witnessed first hand the steady decline in the standard of the Rooms and Service. The decor has become dated and Grubby, Taps are wobbly and loose, door handles are loose, towels are tired.

Two nights ago, I got to a Room which had no Pillows on the Bed except one lying skew without a Pillow Slip. Towel was on the floor and the room was generally not prepared for a Guest. It took 45 mins for them to respond and they then barged into the room without knocking, because they thought there were no Guests in the room.
I wrote to the management that same night complaining, and 2- 3 days later they have not responded.
DO NOT EXPECT 5 STAR-You will not get it.!!

This is the second business conference I have attended at Zimbali. The great location , facing over the Indian Ocean is one thing but the staff were without fail fantastic . Catering for a group of over 200 delegates all staff were friendly , gracious and quietly attentive . Highly recommend for business or pleasure

I could not think of a better place to stay. We turned up after 4 days on safari looking a little grubby and hot. Staff parked the cars and carried our bags! At reception we were told our room had been upgraded and o wow!! I have never stayed somewhere so luxurious but friendly! Our suits were huge with a view if the sea from very room and window (and the bath tub!!) the hotel is spotless, the gym is first class (being on a running machine with a view of the sea is breath taking). The food and drink selection is fantastic! I could not recommend this highly enough!!!!
Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday!! The photos are up all over the house!!!

What an amazing mini vacation at this Resort!!! The hospitality and general friendliness of the staff is highly commendable. Great service from all facets... I thoroughly enjoyed my spa treatment and not to mention the divine food... A hotel that I will definitely not hesitate to use again... it has it all...

I recently spent a few days at Zimbali. Although the setting is idyllic and the views phenomenal the service is not on par with their star ratings. Requests at the concierge desks for an adaptor (for their own hair dryer!) took 2 requests and an eventual visit to the desk where I refused to move until someone assisted me. There was no hot water in the evenings which is not pleasant. Their breakfast buffet however is good.
