My husband and I attended a reunion in Natal and flew from King Shaka airport so decided to stay in Ballito. We found a delightful guest house called Al Marrakesh Guest House straight out of the Arabian Knights. We were welcomed by a young lady who showed us around and as it was a Sunday she went off duty and we were then looked after by a diligent young man called Mike who attended to our every request in a kind and friendly manner. I was impressed by the atmosphere of Arabia and the authentic décor. The beautiful carved bathroom entrance and the room we stayed in had the atmosphere of an Arab tent with all the luxuries. Our room had a uniquely installed TV with perfect reception The experience was very restful whilst the mystic Arabian atmosphere made one feel you could be whisked away on a magic carpet ride at any given time. We found the location perfect for exploring Ballito with a variety of interesting places to dine. Mike offered to make us breakfast but as we had an early departure we declined. Well done for your unique, interesting and different décor - it was like a breath of fresh air.

Recently we spend three days at this b/b. This was our 2nd visit and just as good as the first. It is so comfortable, all the equipment (kettles, microwaves, etc etc) are of the highest quality. Beds, bedding so luxurious...but the cream on the top was the staff. They were pleasant, helpful, and ready to see to our smallest need...I will not hesiate to recommend this b/b to anyone...

Thank you for the beautiful place and the relaxing stay, we had a fantastic time! The room was comfortable and we loved the stylish Morrocan decor. The guest house is a quiet and peaceful place - home away from home. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable; It was our first time in Ballito and the manageress helped us with directions in town and restaurants recomendations. The bed was very comfortable and our room was equiped with satelite tv and air conditioning! We will be back soon, thank you!

The room was nicely decorated and clean but expensive. We were quite disapointed to see how dirty the pool was (it looked like a health hazard) and mentioned that also to the owner. The additional fact that a dog in the neighbourhood was barking the whole night made the stay not as relaxing as we hoped for.

No doors to bathrooms
No breakfast included
No Internet
Dirty
Rats in room
Not enough parking
Staff not trained
Pool leaked and had 1/4 amount of usual water
8 TV channels
Website is misleading.
We left the place a day early , as it was unbearable.
Could have stayed in a hotel for less and received more.

I was surprised to read the other reviews after our pleasant stay. I think people need to remember that after all, this is a suburban B+B, not the Holiday Inn :)
I had a wedding in Ballito and had avoided booking accommodation as everything I saw was very overpriced, for what looked like someones badly decorated spare room. At the last minute I had a look on booking.com and found Al Marrakesh. Not only was the decor so lovely, but I got a great deal too.

The B+B is set in the leafy suburb of Ballito, and it was a 5 minute drive to the wedding venue near the beach.
We had a huge king size bed, and the room was very spacious in terms of what you would get in a hotel. It was tastefully decorated in a moroccan type theme which was so lovely. Handwoven fabrics and rugs and screeded floors.
I especially liked the cleverly designed swing out TV panel so you can watch TV on the couch or the bed.
The bed was incredible, we had a wonderful nights sleep after a long night of dancing!
They had plunger with filter coffee and free milk in the fridge, which was a nice touch too.

We booked this accommodation after looking at the pictures and were really disappointed. While the room was large we booked or 3 people - a single and a double only to find we were all in one room with only a curtain separating off the bathroom. The pool was dirty and un-usable. The room not all that clean. It was very expensive as I would not recommend this to anyone.
