Warm and friendly service, great views, animal lovers paradise, wild animal viewing from the pool, homely, lovely garden, George is a star. We can highly recommend staying here, sorry that we only spent one night there.

Dear Ellie,

We fully agree one nigh is simply not enough time at Khaya Ndlovu. We hope to see you longer for your next visit.

We enjoyed our stay, mostly because the staff is so friendly and helpfull. Princess And Susan are wonderful Cooks, All waitresses are so nice and friendly, they are making your stay great! The only think we missed is some information about nice things to do in the area of Hoedspruit, we asked the manager but she couldn't give is any brochure.
The Manor House is wonderful, we stayed in the familyroom and I think The owner has to upgrade this a bit. Electricity is working on a very strange way, kitchen is quit old, tap is leaking, bedroom and bathometer are great!

Dear Mapje,

Princess and Suzen are wonderful chefs and they prepare the meals with such passion. Thank you for your advice about the family unit, we have been looking at ways to solve the difficult light switches.

We wanted a relaxing getaway in a beautiful, natural setting with comfortable accommodation and good service and got just that! Khaya Ndlovu is upmarket, yet has a warm homely feel. We stayed in the honeymoon suit which is luxurious and spacious with a stunning garden view. We soaked up the sounds of the bush and the vista of the Drakensberg and were constantly entertained by the variety of animals visiting the watering hole. The staff went out of their way to ensure that our every need was catered for. At the end of our six day stay we felt refreshed and were very sad to say farewell.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and the staff were absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. The food was amazing and the view was unbelievable. Only downside was that they ran out of pretty much everything in the bar so very limited choice of cocktails, but they worked with what they had and the result was very tasty! We met the owners during our stay and they organised an afternoon at their sister lodge in Thornybush, where we spent time by the beautiful pool and went on a fantastic game drive. I really can't recommend this highly enough, my friends cried when we had to leave and I would stay again should I return to Hoedspruit.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay at this beautiful manor house.

The good:
- George - he is the master of hospitality, nothing is too much trouble for him (early breakfasts, lunch at late notice, romantic private dinners) and he's just such a kind and friendly person. He is definitely Khaya Ndlovu's secret weapon.
- The manor house - its beautiful and very carefully and tastefully decorated. The honeymoon suite is amazing.
- The view - captivating.
- The food - delicious!
- All the staff in general - very helpful and accommodating.

The not so good:
- We booked the all inclusive package and I'm still a little confused as to what was meant to be included in that... two game drives were meant to be included per day, but they weren't able to get us into a game drive on our first morning (which was disappointing), and we were charged for transfers to the game drives that they did organise for us... I queried this at check out and the charge was removed, but if I was about to book, I would get this clarified, as its worth about $100 per drive.
- Whilst the staff were really helpful in arranging activities, it sometimes seemed to us to be a little disorganised. Cindy is super helpful and responsive via email before you arrive, so if you are pretty sure of what you want to do, I would ask Cindy to book it all in and confirm the activities before you arrive.
- our suite didn't have any hot water on our final night or morning - to be fair we didn't bring this up with the staff, as it was past 10pm when we went to have showers on our final night, and 5:30am when we got up on our final morning before checking out at 6:30am... hopefully they realised and fixed the problem before their next guests arrived.

All in all we were very happy with the lodge, but I do think if your focus is to be on safari and do two game drives a day, you may be better off staying at a lodge which does their own drives... But otherwise I would highly recommend a stay at the beautiful Khaya Ndlovu.

Dear Bronnie,

Firstly, apologies for the late reply, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and George is truly a wonderful Butler who takes great pride in caring for his guests.

I would like to sincerely appologise for the inconvenience and any misunderstandings regarding our activities. Depending on the packages chosen, we offer one or two game ACTIVITIES per day - this includes game drives but also so much more. The reason we do this is that we are central to the popular activities in the area and would like our guests to experience everything there is too offer.

We wish to make available a complimentary Thornybush game drive should you decide to visit us again.

I trust this helps with any future planning

Kind Regards

Ronel

The manor house is just as impressive as it looks in the photos. Beautiful setting with fabulous infinity pool looking out to the mountains. Rooms as spacious and well presented and the staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful with organising tours, guides and drivers. The food was incredible - thanks to Princess our chief, and George was the ultimate butler - full of smiles and only too happy to ensure your every need is met. Sad to leave and would definitely go back again!
