Dorm accom for 4 people, food provided for share cooking or otherwise. Clean and peaceful, 15 km from Hoedspruit, many other sites close by with the imposing Drakensburg ranges. Cafe on site for food and drinks. A very safe part of South Africa. Mainly local southern African reptiles, scorpions and spiders here with some exotics. For visitors it's an excellent place for close encounters with snakes if you want and is very informative and relaxed. Volunteers get an amazing amount of handling experience amongst all the cleaning duties. In fact they don't know how lucky they are in that regard.

“Very good - huge variety of snakes, and you can hold the python!”

Sure it's a "zoo", but where else can you see (and handle some) snakes, lizards, crocodiles and others creatures. Its pretty great really - kids love it.

“Interesting place!”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

Despite (or because of) being afraid of snakes, we visited the park and that was really interesting to learn more about them. The staff was helpful and answered all our questions.
A good moment!

“Great Snakes”

I wanted to see their mambas and wasn't disappointed, some must have measured 2+ metres. The animals are well cared for and the facility is very clean and wellkept

“Thought shifting experience”
Reviewed 9 May 2013

I learned so much about reptiles from this experience. The presenter was so fantastic, and knowledgable about all the animals. It was very inspiring. I am less afraid of snakes and spiders since being there, from what I have learned about them.
