We had a family outing to Alpine Heath which included my niece & nephew from USA. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of activities available for the kids. i had thought that i would have to find things to do with them outside the resort, however, due to it being school holidays, there were activities arranged throughout the day in addition to the usual splendid hikes, play areas and sporting activites. The staff are helpful & friendly and this is a perfect family destination. you can choose to relax in the picturesque background of the mountains and dam or partake in the numerous activities available. the resort certainly is 4* in respect of the activites and general appearance. The accommodation is adequate, clean and beautifully set however i would rate the lodges as 3*.

I recently visited Alpine Heath for the first time and just cannot wait to go back! My kids had a great time - the staff were amazing and were so attentive to the children. I had a wonderful full body massage and the horse back ride was life changing. I never experienced such peace being 'inside' these majestic mountains. Just stunning!

My 2nd outing this year to Alpine Heats. Children always feel at home with their full day of activities, even training with The Shark's - under 21 team was a pleasant surprise for my son.

Your staff are efficient, food at the Resturant is delicious and the child minders do an exemplary job. They are the best at what the do.

Keep up the good work you do.

This is our 3rd stay in the berg and this is the best! Tons to do, esp for kids, relaxed vibe, delicious food, excellent service, beautiful chalets, great hikes & stunning views. Professional & 4 star all the way but still relaxing enough that it's not snooty. Divine coffee from their coffee shop & the food was outstanding. Very accommodating. The fun crew were the best keeping the kids entertained all day every day during the school holiday period. Nightly movies shown for the kids with a meal offered while parents relax in the tavern and watch the world cup games ;-) There's plenty for the active i.e. tennis, squash, hiking, putt-putt, swing ball & family soccer matches or tag rugby. The chalets had fireplaces and 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms serviced daily. The only negative was the prices of the drinks but that's hotel prices I guess. They also ran out of our fav ciders for two days and we had to wait for delivery of more. A Savanna Dry will set you back R32!!! Exorbitant when you're charged a mere R22 at a neighbouring resort or restaurant. The tower of pizza just outside the resort is nothing to look at but what a surprise when they serve you fresh delicious pizza. Oh my word, we all raved about it. The cheese cake was out of this world and a mere R24-50. The HUnters and Savanna were also R18 - R22. Highly recommend this holiday destination.

Room Tip: All chalets have wonderful views of the mountain

Thank you for taking the necessary time to write such kind personal review about Three Cities Alpine Heath Resort.

We are pleased to hear you and your family had such a great time during your stay. Yes we are blessed to be situated in such a great piece of the Northern Drakensberg to offer our guests a great selection of outdoor and indoor facilities. Our Entertainment team aim to keep the whole family happy and satisfied by entertaining the children with the kids' activities program while the parents themselves can relax.

It is also a pleasure to hear you found our chalets spacious and welcoming with the fireplace in the separate living area for the whole family to sit around during these cold winter months.

We do hope to see you and your family soon back again in the near future.

We frequent this resort often and it is definitely on our top 10 list of get aways when we need to find our peace and equilibrium from the stresses of life.

This resort is well priced and perfect for family reunions and even if you need a little peace and quiet. The chalets are private and spacious and the overall ambience is warm and cosy with pleasant staff.

Enjoy the home made bread and delicious pizzas at the village. Cuddle up with loved ones next to the fireplace. Horse riding is a definite must.

Room Tip: For a little privacy and better mountain views, choose the cosy double storey chalets.

Dear Ms Maharaj

Many thanks for you review.

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Three Cities Alpine Heath Resort. We agree that we live in a small piece of paradise in the majestic Drakensberg where cosy fires in winters hiking, mountain biking and horse-riding are popular activities whilst the kids are entertained with a host of activities from our entertainment team.

It is really a very nice place to stay, however there are minor things that needs a little attention, but overall this seems to be my family's yearly getaway resort. With so much to do and too little time to do everything. My kids love this place, especially the games room, however during peak periods there should be a little more games like fooze ball table and maybe another table tennis as the kids do not have enough time to play with so many crying for the table.
Overall this place is the awesome.
