Its not that luxury but stuffs are very kind and importantly, you can see all different kind of animals from hotel's deck. You don't even need to go for a drive.
Room is also beautiful but we didn't have enough hot water in the evening and heating system is very poor. I had to spend a freezing night.

Dear pinopatrick,

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you had good wildlife sightings. Our general manager is looking into the problem with the hot water so that it doesn't happen again. We hope to welcome you back to Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge again soon.

We have been here twice already and are looking forward to going back. The lodge itself is stunning the food is excellent and the game drives are wonderful with expertise game rangers. The staff are superb, friendly, professional and always happy. When not on a game drive or not sitting at a table eating, it is so relaxing to just sit at the pool or on the sundeck and watch the wildlife stroll by. I love Hoyo Hoyo and I thank all the staff who on both occasions have made our stay unforgettable. Thank you :-)

We booked the entire Lodge for a night and I must say, the lodge is beautiful! However, the totally untrained staff let it down. They had absolutely no idea. For dinner they offered us pork or beef fillet. Nobody asked how we would like it cooked and it turned out to be a disaster. Several times during dinner I had to knock on the kitchen door to get somebody to serve more wine or water, the staff were happily chatting amongst themselves in the kitchen and the guests came a very clear second. There was no fire made in the lounge, until I asked them to do it, as we all wanted to enjoy after dinner drinks there, and being the middle of winter and very cold at night, this is simply not good enough. Esspressi were ordered and Coffee arrived, only to be sent back. 20 minutes later the Esspressi arrived. Port and Brandy's were ordered, port arrived in Brandy goblets and Brandy in Port glasses. Actually the service is a disaster! From A-Z. What a pity, the resort would be fantastic if it wasn't for that. I unfortunately will never go back, and I can't recommend this resort to anybody. At that price you can find MUCH better resorts in and around the Kruger Park.

Six couples from our family had booked the entire lodge. The friendly staff were there to welcome us with drinks and a dance. They got to know us personally and remembered our names. The rooms were beautifuly furnished with a viewing deck. The only problem was the outdoor shower which is really cold to use in winter. Hearing the wild animals in the night is really amazing. Meals were deliciously prepared. Having no contact with the outside world is the best way to relax and unwind. Viewing the animals and birds during the game drives was awesome and gaining knowledge from our wonderful safari guides Nicolos and Andrew. We looked forward to the hot tea and rusks during the cold morning drives. What a pleasant surprise was the bush breakfast. In the heart of the bush a buffet breakfast with tables, chairs and cutlery was laid. How welcoming the breakfast was after the three hour drive. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making it a memorable stay.

We stayed in hoyo hoyo in early may 2014. My first experience is how friendly and welcoming the staff are. After a very long car ride, skipping breakfast and lunch, we arrived in hoyo hoyo 3pm in the afternoon. We arrived tired and super hungry. We were greeted with warm towel to wash away the tiredness, we asked for some bread to cure our hunger, but what came out was hot pizza straight from oven, words can't describe how thankful we were.

The food there was amazing, better than what you can get in any other 4-5 star hotels. We often wonder how do they get such high quality/fresh ingredients in the middle of a national park. Even better, they feed you 5-6 times a day, you will not go hungry while you stay in hoyo hoyo.

The room was warm, intimate. Lack of reception means there was no wifi, not even telephone. We had to use walkie talky to communicate with the reception. At first it was strange without any means of communication, but after a while you will immerse yourself within the nature surrounding you. I promise you will not miss the internet at all.

The lodge offer 2 game drives a day and a safari walk. The driver was knowledgeable and during our 4 nights stay we seen the big 5s plus many more.

Thanks to all the staff members that gave us this amazing experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in hoyo hoyo and we will definitely come back.

We stayed at Hoyo Hoyo in may 2014. Topnotch. In the middle of a private game reserve. It certainly isn't the cheapest lodge but we found it to be worth every rand.
The pleasure of not having to worry about your meals, two game drives a day and an excellent and friendly staff made it a perfect three days.

We had Oscar as our safari guide and he knows his way in the area. He can track anything and the big 5 was no problem. Ofcourse there's always 'the luck factor' but we saw many animals and its just a fun and friendly guy. Ralph picked up detailed route map for us. The navigation isn't always dead on in Kruger.

Be sure to book a thursday within your stay, im not going to tell you why but expect a nice surprise coming back after the evening game drive.

To all staff members, thank you for a wonderful stay: Mooi, Oscar, Twice, Ralph, Roger and Give&Take, we'll never forget!!
