This was our first visit to a Black Bear restaurant. We visited during lunch time, but could still get breakfast...exactly the kind if restaurant we needed as two ordered breakfast and two ordered lunch.

All the portions were generous and the food was delicious. In particular I loved my BBQ meatloaf sandwich. Tangy BBQ and wonderful meatloaf. Yum!

The four of us split a bearclaw for dessert. What a treat!

We will definitely visit Black Bear restaurants again!

Great ambience.
Food great. It had to have been homemade.
Staff was great.
Easy to find.
Went for lunch but was told breakfast is what they are really known for.

We went there at the recommendation of hotel personnel. The server was very friendly and prompt. I ordered waffles and they came with a bear paw print. That was fun. Waitress said they couldn't keep the bears out of the kitchen. The waffles were excellent. My husband's biscuits and gravy was pretty bland. It is difficult to judge a restaurant by biscuits and gravy because everyone's taste is different. Felt it was pretty pricy but it is a tourist town.

4 of us went out for dinner. I had been to another Black Bear in AZ, so decided on this one. An open floor plan, booths and tables, but that also lets it be quite noisy. You couldn't help but hear the waiter at the next 2 tables talking, as he had to talk louder to make himself heard. Our waitress was polite, efficient and obviously experienced. She announced the fish fry special, and all 4 of us ordered it.The food was prepared and delivered hot and tasty. The server checked back with us a few times, but wasn't pushy. There is a quick turn over, we were in an out in about 45 minutes. We had a good experience, again, at a Black Bear Diner.
