Owner description: The scenic shoreline of Lake Havasu State Park is an ideal place to enjoy beautiful beaches, nature trails, boat ramps, and convenient campsites. This spot is truly a watersport haven located near the famous London Bridge of Lake Havasu City. The park offers three boat ramps, 47 campsites, a special events area (not available on holiday weekends), picnic area, and beach area. The Mohave Sunset Trail (1.75 miles) winds its way through the lowland desert and along the shoreline. The Arroyo-Camino Interpretive Garden showcases the diverse life that exists within the park and this area of the desert. Birds, lizards, and desert cottontails are common sights.

We visited the park in late May and the temps were already getting up there. We stayed at the adjacent Hampton Inn and you can walk into the park from the hotel. If you drive in they charge a fee per car. The park is mostly a RV camping area and a boat launch with some beach access. Good clean bathrooms. There is not much shade so this is a late evening or early morning stop. We hiked the Sunset Trail and saw quite a few birds even though the morning was heating up.
We stumbled on a small cactus garden called Arroyo de Camino, not really part of the park but very much worth a quick stop. A very birdy place with most of the local cactus on display. A cool thing to do especially if you have kids: bring a black light flashlight, very cheap, and walk in the scrub behind the camping area at night. The scorpions will glow in the dark under black light and they are easy to find back here. We saw over 20 within 20 minutes.

We've been using the launch here for years, we always feel safe here. Not so many crazies. The lots are large and facilities are clean. and its cheaper than the Marina!

It was over 110 degree F when we got to the lake so we were keen for a cool swim, however, we took the side via London Bridge being a weekend day, the place was busy with many boats and the combined noise and fuel smell from them was very strong so we chose to move a little further away. Be careful of the playground equipment when in hot conditions as our child burned his leg on an exposed metal part of the play gym, where the protective rubber layer has worn off. Apart from that it was a welcome relief to have a swim and cool down.

We stayed at this park in a tent. The park was clean, well maintained, bathrooms clean. The Maintnance crew checked bathrooms and trash every morning. There is a lovely desert scape nature walk.
There is no shade, so be prepared with something to create shade during the warmer season

The problem we had were the feral pigs, they were at our campsite each night, rooting under my tent, ravaging our camp area. The campground has updated their website to warn campers since we complained to the state department when nothing was done, and we were not warned. Feral pigs can be dangerous, so you must know about them, and be prepared.

A lot of activities held in the park and surrounding area. Boat shows and ski races with participants from around the world.
