Man that checked us in was the least friendly front desk person at any hotel I've stayed at, I think because we checked in with a bunch of kids (which is why we requested 2 adjoining rooms.) Rudely stated that we needed to keep them quiet. Curious why they don't see a lot of young kids (because I had to put their ages on my reservation) and put us in a first floor room instead of just being rude about it. They also didn't touch our room the 3 days we were there. I personally traded towels for one room when the maids were on our floor, then asked them to switch out the other room's as we were leaving for the day. She said my rooms were next. I was hopeful that meant they were going to come in, dump trash at least, etc. Nope, absolutely nothing was touched in either room even after requesting at least a towel trade. Sorry that our garbage cans were overflowing by our last day. We got back late from our day so I wasn't going to request anything at that point. The good points, breakfast was great, the woman that runs it is nice, and the rooms are clean (though I think we were in a non-renovated room) I'd stay there again if a good price popped up, but I wouldn't pay their normal rate for the rude service, or the lack of cleaning.
Maybe you don't realize how important a friendly welcome is until you don't get one. The fellow who checked us in was not very pleasant and it probably started our impression of the place off on the wrong foot. The room was okay, but nothing great, and the breakfast would have been better if everything was working, but they were out of coffee for the 20 minutes we waited (there was one woman trying to staff the breakfast as well as the phone and front desk) and the pancake maker wasn't working, so we ended up with toast and water. Bathroom did not have places to put things except a small vanity top, so maybe we were in one of the rooms that has not been renovated yet.
