Stayed on the 26thJuly 2012 for 2 nights at the Sabi river sun. To our dissapointement we were not welcome and the accommodation was not comfortable. the bathroom was flooded with water after complaining they could not fix the problem. Ordered Irishrish coffee in the bar which they could not make. I must say this is not a 4 star hotel, and would not recommend the hotel. although they are on a beautiful golf estate a bit disappointing to the surroundings

Room Tip: rather stay in the self catering units.

We stayed here in July 2012 and upon arriving our kids girl 11 and boy 9 immediately disappeared and we found them on the volleyball court some time later. The accommodation was comfortable, a little dated and in need of some tlc but clean and comfortable. The activities for the kids was well detailed in a brochure given to us on arrival and kept them entertained. We made use of the Thomsons kiosk in the foyer and booked a trip to see and ride the elephants and a family outing to the tree top adventures, both well worth the effort and expense. The food was good and reasonably priced. We did also play golf and the pro shop was wonderful and we managed a lesson with the resident golf pro for the kids and had a wonderful family 9 hole golf game, very relaxed and the setting breathtaking. There are a few tennis courts, floodlit, and we were sorry we did not pack the rackets, but there are available for hire. There is also a running/cycling track around the grounds roughly 5kms long. The hide is well worth a visit and were entertained by the local bird population and hippos. You could not ask more for a family holiday than this

Once again, my family and I have spent 7 days at Sabie River Sun (Bungalows), with hippos and crocs and otters.... This is our mid-winter break, and as usual, this is the best time of the year to unwind. For me, and for my family. The Kruger National Park is so close, and the Resort's facilities are really, really very good. Damien is a natural entertainer. Who cares about 9 holes or 18 holes? The hippos make up for a hiatus.
Thank you Sabie River Sun.

Just right at the right time.

We stayed on a family vacation at the Sabi River Sun Lifestyle Resort in one of the self catering units. Firstly the golf course and public areas are beautifully kept. The accommodation was very spacious and very clean. Our unit overlooked parts of the golf course. The unit had a well equipped and big kitchen, very nice patio and 3 very good rooms (sleeps 6). All and all a beautiful resort.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. We received really good service and the buffet was reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Stay in one of the self catering units, rather than the hotel.

This a a lovely setting for a hotel/timeshare but the quality of the rooms really let the side down. When we arrived at the location we were very impressed with the public areas including the golf course, bar, dining area and reception, but the actual hotel rooms can only be described as tired!
The rooms are spacious including two double beds, but expecting four people, even children, to share such a tiny cupboard space and even tinier bathroom would be expecting too much! Is it too much to ask for a separate shower or too chose a shower in your room over a bath? Who still uses shower curtains in their home let alone in a hotel room? Think of the hygiene.

The staff are excellent and very helpful and the location is within easy drive to the Phambini gate of the Kruger National Park. Kids activities are arranged all the time to keep them busy and their are 5 pools in the complex. Maybe more tennis courts could be built as the three that they have are always busy.

The food, apart from breakfast, is just okay. The spa on-site is good and I had one of the best massages there that I have had for a long time.

I stayed here as part of a tour and first impression with the golf course and timeshares was great. Until you are taken to your hotel room. The rooms were very dated, not kept up at all.
The food was just ok. Service was limited. Most people made you feel you were bothering them.
Women in convenient store was really put out to let us pay for our items.
Wouldn't recommend this at all unless you are a golfer and staying in the timeshares.

We stayed at this resort for the first time in April. We'd heard a Lot, but were not sure what to expect. Well, our expectations where met and exceeded. The units are spacious, comfy and equipped well. The surroundings are peaceful and one can only relax at this resort. We
Also hardly saw our boys! They checked in at meal times and for the rest ran around with all the activities and friends they had made. We will definitely be back.
