“Great food, location and accomodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2010

Great location-very accessable to the Panorama route and Kruger National Park, in a very quiet area with amazing views. While we sat on a veranda the wildebeest trotted past right next to us! Peaceful place. The food is the best in South Africa!! Wildebeest stew, crocodile pate and other local delicacies, the portions are enormous. We never dined like that before. Highly recommended for foodie lovers! Definetely a hidden gem, we can`t wait to go back...

A very pleasant hotel in a lovely location with excellent service and very accommodating and friendly staff. Warning - the huts we stayed in had no A/C!

Rissington is a very pleasant place to stay with large rooms which are basic but the things that matter are done right. Big, very comfortable king sized bed for my husband and I with single bed for our son right next to it. Good quality toiletries in the bathrooms which are large and complete with bath.Magazines and books to read. Comfy chairs and great verandahs overlooking the scenery so you can chill out with a glass of wine and listen to the birds. Went for a lovely walk on the property. Great bar area open all day and complete with games for the kids and a very personable barman. Food in the restaurant was excellent and a super wine list to go with it. Resident hippos come grazing between the rooms at night so no night wandering!
We really enjoyed our one night on the way to the Sabie Sands and would recommend Rissington as a great stopover. The owner who is an accomplished writer is one hell of a nice guy as well and he sought us out after dinner to say hello.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a travel agents trip. Lovely property, feels very homely and the two dogs are great! Fantastic food, fantastic staff - overall a great stay!

This hotel is in a great location for both Kruger National Park and Blydes River Canyon. We can see why many of the guests return again and again as you are very close to one of the gates to the Kruger and within easy reach of the canyon, the three rondevals and Bourkes Luck potholes. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable, we ate in the restaurant which was good value for money with a nice choice of dishes, The staff were very friendly and they provided us with a picnic breakfast as our flight times were changed and we had to leave early in the morning. We will definitely stay here when we visit this area again but would stay for longer.
