Our three days at Plumbago guest house were really a pleasant experience. We will never forget the beautiful garden, the accomodation, the perfectly home cooked food (thanks Ilara), the good selection of wines (thanks Robbie) and your funny dogs. We only regret that we could not stay for a longer time.
Warmest regards from Sonia & Niclas Wallin, Stockholm, Sweden.

My family and I stayed at this stunning accommodation from 27th Dec 2009 to 1st Jan 2010.

The hosts Ilara and Robbie are always on hand to assist , and on this occassion Ilara's mother Val also -she is a wonderful lady and added an extra dimension.

For our children aged 11 and 14 - Basil - one of the owners dogs - was just one of the many highlights of Plumbago.

The food and dinner/breakfast settings showed the ulitmate in attention to detail and wanting to provide the highest service possible. The quality of food also was of the highest standard.

Its location again - top marks - 20 minutes drive to Kruger National Park , plus all the activities around Hazyview.

They made us feel very much at home. The rooms were very well appointed with extremely comfortable beds - excellently maintained each day by Mercy.

We stayed for 5 nights - but could easily have stayed longer.

Thank you to Ilara, Robbie, Val, and Basil

Very nice personal lodge, absolutely fantastic food. Best we had this holiday. Nice spacy rooms ( separate cottages) nice pool, tennis court, lovely view and gardens, personal attention, great place I can recommend. Just 20 minutes from kruger park and 10 from hazy view. Two small dogs around that want to be friends

Our one-night stay at Plumbago--en route to our guest lodge in Kruger--was simply the BEST accommodation we experienced during our three-week visit to Africa. Had we not already booked our stay in Kruger, we would have remained at Plumbago and used it as our "base camp" (as Kruger and other attractions were close enough for daily excursions).

Service and attention to detail were exemplary. Ilara and Robbie exuded helpfulness. The facilities were top notch--nestled into agrarian surroundings in a grand "estate home". Our room was execeptionally-spacious, and the bath was a joy. Ample patios and seating areas abounded on the estate. One member of our party was a Landscape Architect and avid gardener, and he was OVERWHELMED by the beauty of the garden and environs.

Beverages and breakfast were fantastic--and exceeded those available at the finest private resorts in the world. Everything was served with herbal and floral garnishes--right down to the water glasses in the bathroom (which were placed on fresh geranium leaf doilies!!!)

It would be foolish to visit Africa without staying at Plumbago. Please stay longer than one night--however--as that was our only regret... :)

We stayed here for 2 nights following a visit to Kruger. What a superb place - beautiful setting, spacious room and excellent hospitality. We chose to have 2 evening meals (otherwise it is a drive into Hazyview) and these were really lovely - sitting on the terrace being served delightful food by Robbie was a joy. Ilara and Robbie were both such friendly and helpful hosts - we would highly recommend a stay here.

We only managed a brief visit to Plumbago, we were looked after superbly by Ilara and Robbie, they could not do enough for us. The room was spacious and very comfortable, there was nice pool and great views down over Kruger in the distance. The food was first class and there was a comfortable bar area that given the time we would have happily spent many hours.
You will not go wrong with Plumbago

We find this beautiful B&B in book called Portfolio available in many places in South Africa. We were really impressed for the great service, great breakfast and so nice suite we had.
Also Ilara was so helpful to inform us about the spot to see in the near place(Kruger, Blyde River Canyon and so on). You must be here!
