The place was very nice and conveniently located and ideal for a romantic get-away.

But we did not feel at home, as we travelled as a family with kids. The male owner was very grumpy and awkward and he did not seem to like kids. The female owner was nicer but bitter about the situation in South Africa. The local staff was very friendly and welcoming!

If you are not travelling with kids please stay here, if you travel with kids rather go somewhere else.

This guest house has very comfortable, clean and big rooms, built in the traditional african style with all the amenities of that you can need. It has only 4 rooms so it's very peaceful to stay there.
Breakfast was very good and it is served in a lounge in front of a little pool.
Location: it's just five minutes by car from the St Lucia centre and the entrance gate of Isimangaliso Wetland Park.
Joyce is very helpful and she gives you all the information you need about the 101 things you can do in St. Lucia.
Highly recommended for you stay in St. Lucia.

Afrykhaya guest house offers one bedroom bungalows with bathroom. Rooms are clean and comfortable, provided with fridge, air dryer and electric coffee machine. The bathroom includes a big shower but the WC has no door and this may be uncomfortable for some people. It seems very common in Southafrica. Nonetheless, the location is quiet and beautiful. The owner Joyce is a lovely woman. She was kind and helpful giving us lots of information on where to go in the Wetland park area. I really recommend this hotel.

We have recently returned from South Africa and had wonderful welcome when we arrived in St. Lucia (end Aug 12). We were 2 families taking 4 rooms, each as beautiful and clean as each other, each with their own porch, fridge and tea/coffee facilities. Joyce, our host, couldn't have been more helpful with regards to advice and information on where to go/eat in St Lucia and the cultures and politics of the region. We would not hesitate to stay at Afrikhaya Guest House again, nor recommend to others.
