“Wonderful stay, great hospitality!”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Spending 4 nights at the Seasands Lodge in St Lucia made me come back home relaxed and happy with my choice of accommodation! St Lucia has a lot of guest houses, hotels, lodges, etc, but I had heard that Seasands was very good. It is not very good, it is great! Lovely quiet accommodation (I shared a 2 bedroom unit with a friend), wonderful gardens/surroundings, very nice breakfast and wonderful hospitality. The owners are always around to make sure that the guests are happy and management is clued up and helpful. I will definitely go back!

We recently stayed at the Seasands while on holiday in St Lucia. Overall our stay there was great and we have mostly favorable comments. The location is good, only a few blocks from the town center, and located on a quiet street. Easy walking distance to pretty much everywhere, and lots of great places and trails to run/walk if you so desire. We were very impressed by the service at the hotel. The manager and hotel staff were all very friendly and made a big effort to make us feel welcome – the place seemed to be well-managed. We didn’t eat any meals at the hotel so can’t comment on the food.

The hotel grounds were very nice, complete with lush gardens and plenty of trees. The room was large and comfortable, with sitting area and kitchenette. The bed was extremely comfy and we had absolutely the best sleeps there during the course of our stay. The kitchenette was really handy for preparing our own breakfasts and keeping our drinks and food chilled, but the addition of a microwave oven would have been really nice. The room however was old and tired, definitely in need of some renovation. Some of the paint was peeling, some mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom, some shoddy workmanship in places, old fittings – a bit rustic. The TV was archaic, an old CRT from last century, with only about 3 or 4 channels to watch – disappointing. Also disappointing that there was no Wifi available. But everything was very clean and comfortable, so not too much to really complain about. The shower was great, with loads of hot water and volume.

Overall all we had a very good stay at the Seasands and would recommend it to other travelers, as it seemed to be good value for the price. Once all the rooms have been renovated, I’m sure it will be deserving its 4-star rating.

Dear Dan

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, we really appreciate reviews like yours - we have recently taken over the Hotel and we do agree that there are certainly areas that need to be upgraded and we are busy with the rooms and their refurbishment as a whole.

Kind regards

Our group stayed here one night. Found the rooms to be very comfortable, the staff helpful and it was close to everything. We arrived late, and checked out early, so didn't have time to explore the pool or try the breakfast. Loved St. Lucia and wished we could have stayed longer.

The hotel has a good location: it is close to the center of st maria. The site around the bedrooms is nice, surrounded by lots of different trees and it is pretty quiet.
But the room needs to be renovated, the towels and the sheets were dirty. If you arrive at 9 am for breakfast, the buffet is almost empty and the dishes are not very clean.

Thank you so much for this feedback - yes we do acknowledge that the rooms need to be renovated,

We took the Lodge over last month - July 2014 and we have already started with refurbishment, I would like to add though that hopefully the linen is not dirty - it is old but always clean.

We have identified key areas of renewal and new linen, towels, and bedding for the Lodge is a priority.

Regarding the Buffet not being replenished, this is unacceptable and the duty manager has been brought in as we need to find out exactly why this was allowed to happen

Please accept my sincerest apologies and know that we are doing everything in our power to get this Lodge back to one of exceptional stands

Kind regards

We stayed here on our way to a game park further north. Special celebration for my husband's 59 th birthday with our 2 daughters.I booked and paid for 2 nights but we checked out the following morning. Definetily not 4 star as the present tourist rating suggests .Buildings and interior seriously neglected and shabby. This establishment has not seen paint in 20 years and is dirty .Even a dog closed up in a unused bar area. Please see pictures. Can and will not recommend to any one !

Whilst we acknowledge this comment I would like to add that we have only just taken over the Lodge last month - July 2014 and whilst there are definitely areas that need to be refurbished we really wish that guests would speak to us before posting such disparaging comments!

The information is not correct and the "dog in the bar" was in indeed one of our family dogs in our home on the estate, the bar is part of a three bedroomed, two lounged cottage with this bar and entertainment area - our dogs love to lie there.

Have been here twice now and have to say the manager is very friendly and will go out of his way to help. Rooms are pleasant and a good size this holiday was adults only safari. Room was clean and a colonial style. There is a nice pool and the main lounge upstairs has wifi and is very pleasant There is a restaurant and as there is not much nearby we ate there each night. The food could be hit and miss but was ok. They do try to do it to your liking and were very helpful to us. The manager offered us a good deal on our next visit. They did a BBQ and it was very good and we enjoyed. Drinks were good value too. We will visit again

Room Tip: ground floor rooms are very nice overlooking the pool and wetlands

We booked to stay three nights at this establishment. On arrival, they got our booking wrong but it was soon corrected. The gardens and setting are good but the rooms are tired and dirty. We cannot recommend this establishment. We left after two days.
