“Butlers Restauran”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

Fine dining at a reasonable price. However the service was to quick. Brought the rolls, hardly finished them and the starter came. Finished that and not even 10 minutes later the main came.
Starter was shared by myself and my husband and was sufficient (Bruschetta.) Mains I had the duck delicious but for me the serving was to big. Had it for breakfast the next morning, enjoyed. My husband had the beef and said that was great and not too much. Will go again when in Kimberley again

“excellent food”
Reviewed 11 March 2014 via mobile

Service started slow, but the food made up for it abundantly. Try the tempura prawns or steak tartare served with springbok carpaccio. Lamb cutlets was juicy and well flavoured. The duck breast was also delicious . Now for desert, frozen peanut butter cheese cake. Yum

“A Gem of a Restuarant”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Every now and again one stumbles across a surprising and wonderful restaurant in the most obscure of places. Kimberley has a plethora of take away franchises and fairly average restaurants, but Butlers stands head and shoulders above all of them. Don't bother with any other establishment, book at Butlers, for not only a fine culinary experience but a wonderful evening in a gorgeous setting with amazing hospitality! The menu is extensive, with French and African influences, with choices ranging from pork belly, gourmet steak dishes to an absolutely fantastic lamb curry! The presentation, attention to detail and plating of the food is superb. Our waitress was super professional and friendly and had an extensive knowledge of the menu! The menu and wine list is well priced and an evening out here won't break the bank! Kudos to the management on getting the balance between ambience, good food and hospitality just right! When in Kimberley again I will return!

The house that Oppenheimer built for his wife has been turned into a Fantastic restaurant. It is a hotel school and the attention to detail and food is fantastic.
