We went to Cape Town to get married and spend first 3 days in the 52 De Wet.
The view from their balcony is incredible beautiful, the rooms spicy and well done, the breakfast very delicious and the staff attentive...what else to tell ;) ?

This was my first trip to Cape Town and my first guesthouse experience and I was completely blown away. Not only by the beauty of the guesthouse and surrounding Bantry Bay and Sea Point, but also by the world-class hospitality that we received. Having a had a delayed flight, we arrived at 52 De Wet around mid-night and were greeted by the night-man Rudolph. He helped us with our bags and rather than rushing us off to our room, offered us a lovely glass of white wine and allowed us to relax on the patio. The breakfast each morning was delicious! We were in the smallest room without a sea-facing view, but it was still a lovely, comfortable room with a huge shower. It was a very nice touch to have our beds made for us every morning whilst we were at breakfast, and turned down for us whilst at dinner. I also loved the 'happy hour' every day with drinks and nibbles on the patio. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Cape Town looking for affordable luxury in a great location!

52 De Wet is a very tasteful and exclusive decorated guesthouse in one of the most elegant residential area of Cape Town. The very spacious rooms, with the amazing view over Bantry Bay and Seapoint are just fantastic. Very nice and rich breakfast. The living room and terrace with infinity pool is fabulous to have a nice glass of wine and enjoy the incredible sunset.
The team is very friendly and helpful. Especially Willy and Anatoli- thank you guys!

We stayed at 52 De Wet on Easter Sunday and had only booked the night before via Booking.com.

Location: In an elevated position over Bantry Bay with brilliant views.

Room: The whole premise is very modern and extremely spacious. We were in room number 10 with partial sea view and our room had a sitting area with coffee/tea making facilities and fresh fruit and a large TV. The bedroom area had an enormous bed, big cupboards, and a large safe.

There was free WIFI through-out.

Bathroom: Again very spacious and modern, with a bathtub and separate shower. The toilet is a separate room.

Breakfast: Was superb and provided everything that we could have wanted.

Hospitality of hosts: We were welcome with a fresh orange juice and our luggage was taken to our room whilst we enjoyed the views from the balcony overlooking the bay. The balcony has an infinity pool with sun loungers around it and a panoramic view of Bantry bay. Unfortunately by the time we arrived it was a bit too cold to dive in.

If you do have a car or do not mind to pay a few Rands for a taxi, this is definitely the place to stay in Cape Town.
We were able to park our car off road in front of the garages.

Room Tip: We were in room 10 with only partial view of the sea, but it was still absolutely lovely. I have rea...

What an unforgettable stay-Willie, Anatoly and Vassiliki were so warm, accommodating and professional. 52 de Wet is a slice of paradise, with majestic views over Cape Town and conveniently located. For the critics out there, there is no need for a fitness room if one considers that a hike to the top of Lion's head is on your doorstep.
Looking forward to coming back!

Room Tip: Spend a little bit more and opt for the deluxe, ocean facing room-you won't regret it.

Naturally, when reading all the amazing reviews here on TripsAdvisor we had some fairly large expectations. Let me just say it right away, this is the best accommodation we have ever been to.
When we arrived we where greeted with a big, warm smile and was asked if we wanted some bobbles.
All of the staff are nothing less then amazing. From Willie and Anatoly who serve you breakfast ( which is very good btw, with egg and bacon made to order) in the morning and greets you welcome when get back from a excursion to Rudolf the security guard who looks after the place at night, they all make sure you have the most comfortable stay possible.
This place is not a lodge, it is in fact a borderline b&b/hotel in regards to services provided such as breakfast made to order, cleaning staff (our room was made in the morning and in the evening in the form of a turn down), laundry service and so forth.
The room we had was very contemporary but warm at the same time with a big marble bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well.
The location of 52 De Wet is nothing short of spectacular. You have the most beautiful panoramic views you can imagine from the pool terrace. We even saw some whales surfacing for air one of the days. Just beautiful!!
52 De Wet sits high in the hillside and almost at the end of the street and therefore there is almost no traffic. We had a rental car, but this is not a must since taxis are reasonably priced. Have one of the staff call Chris at Unicab. He will get you to where you want to go and pick you up afterwards.

Will we stay again? A definitive yes!!
