I always say that the best compliment a hotel can receive is when a guest says, he felt like at home.

Well, at 52 De Wet I felt like at home, and a bit more.

The location is stunning, obviously not in central CapeTown but close enough. The place, the views, the road that leads us to the hotel, its just perfect.

From the moment you arrive you feel like at home, they all try to make things easy for you.

My room was the cheapest one, thank God, it was an amazing room with a very interesting bathroom, which was part of the room but separated by sliding doors.

Wifi worked ok throughout all the hotel

Breakfast was nice, very well presented and not hotel food, but food you would prepare home for friends. Same thing happens for lunch or dinner (sándwiches, salads, etc) everything is prepared with much care.

Amenities and small touches in the room were fantastic, they also help to make a difference.

And finally both Ross, Marnye and the Team were great people, great hosts and made my short stay a great one.

The hotel is very small, you dont have many guests and quite a few were there for a few days. This means that when you go down for breakfast you talk to everyone and there is a lot of interaction, with guests, management, etc,

And ofcourse anything you may need, its always available (reservations for retaurants, tips, information, check in online, stamps for postcards, etc) you name it.

I can only say 3 things.

THANKS

THANKS

Will return A.S.A.P

I completely agree, the best thing you can say about a hotel is that you felt at home, what a compliment! This is exactly what we are trying to achieve and are over the moon that this is how you felt.
We hope that we'll see you again soon & don't forget about our corporate deal next time you come alone.

Kind Regards & Safe Travels,

The 52 De Wet Team

52 De Wet really does have the wow factor. Beautiful ocean views, where , if you are lucky, you can see seals, dolphins, sharks, and the odd whale, luxurious bedrooms, and some of the best food we ate in the whole of Cape Town. Marnie and Russell are fantastic hosts who do their utmost to make sure that you have a great stay in this modern, luxurious, but relaxed hotel. Thank you both for giving us the most wonderful hospitality. The best holiday ever!!

Room Tip: The penthouse is amazing!

Best holiday ever .... I'm not entirely sure that we can take all the praise for this, Cape Town is just amazing, so much to do & see but to have the opportunity to make your stay special is such an honour & we are SO pleased you enjoyed it so much.

Kind Regards,

Marnie

We arrived late at night after 18 hours of travelling non stop from Sydney, Australia. Not knowing what to expect we at last arrived at our destination, 52 De Wet Road. This boutique hotel that has just 8 rooms was the most wonderful surprise. The entry had a wow factor from the moment we were greeted at the door by a friendly smiley face, and we hadn't seen the view yet! Tired and weary, we were taken to our room which was beautifully furnished, meticulously clean and very modern. The bathroom was incredible with both a fabulous shower, bathtub and a heated towel rack with upmarket appliances. The bedroom, loft style, sitting 4 stairs above the living area. Our bed was firm and the linens beautiful 100% cotton. We woke up feeling refreshed and ready for breakfast. Entering the dining area was nothing short of exciting. The view spectacular, encompassing the vastness of being on a vista, taking in the Atlantic Ocean and Capetown below. We had arrived. The Manager of the property and her chef partner are amazing as are the staff. Warm and relatable, very relaxed and yet upholding a high standard in both the environment that is managed beautifully and the food that spoiled us so, that we ended up with cooked breakfast each day, a picnic hamper when we visited the Kirstenbosch Gardens and we couldn't help but stay in for 3 of the 6 nights we were guests, to enjoy dinner in the home like environment that the hosts have created. As I write this review we have stayed in several other properties throughout South Africa and by far we can say that 52 De Wet Boutique Hotel is our favourite! Enjoy.

Room Tip: We had a partial view room to save a little and it was perfect.

top-class rooms, breathtaking views, excellent location. Whether you are on holiday or on a business trip and you want to avoid the 'standard rooms' in the big chain hotels, don't hesitate a minute - this is the place to go to when staying in Cape Town.

We stayed at 52 De Wet over the New Year period. Our entire stay was without flaw.

The pool area is quaint, clean and beautiful with a gorgeous unspoilt view. The whole hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff are attentive ti your every need.

The home made cakes were delightful and the evening suppers cooked by Russel were delicious. Marnie was there to give advice for the rest of our stay in other parts of SA. They were both so warm and welcoming!

We rarely return to the same place twice but would come back next with with friends with a doubt.
This place is a real hidden gem.

Room Tip: book your restaurants WELL IN ADVANCE

We stayed for a few days in late November before moving on to the Winelands - from the moment we arrived until when we left we were blown away by the hospitality provided by Marnie and Russell.

The views are as good as any you will get anywhere and the rooms were fantastic - the Penthouse is especially great. the food (cooked by Russell) and wines were great and we would happily have not moved at all ! The pictures don't lie !

We can't wait to come back.....

Room Tip: Choose the Penthouse if you can !
