As supervisor of the members that utilized the facilities and personally confirming the name list of Military members booked to share rooms, double beds had to be shared due to a so called mis understanding, taking into account we have used the facilities prior.. I find this totally disgusting and offensive towards the members concerned.

Spent only one night there on our way up north, but very good. Room was very clean and well maintained with all amenities you could need like, aircon, hairdryer, TV with satelite channels.
Being winter and rather cold, we couldn't make use of the outside patio (meals and drinks are served in the lush garden during summer.
Ample off street parking and the room is very quiet (not like some other establishments with the 24 hour trucks driving past).
Dinner from an a-la-carte menu (choice of 2 startes, 2 mains & 2 deserts) was very good and reasonably priced.
Only dissapointment was that the owner had gone home or left with the key to the bar, so we had to dig into our stash & supply our own.
Breakfast was sufficient with eggs, bacon & sausage.
Will defenitely stay here again

A booking glitch had us scouring Beaufort West for equivalent accommodation on our regular road trip to Cape Town. Great attentive experience in the booking. On arrival was a bit disappointed to see what is clearly a wonderful old building showing signs of neglect and decay. Reception and overall service experience excellent (Jenny more or less does everything except cook and clean). The dinner was not typically "Karoo", but was very well prepared and served. The gardens, although now into winter, must at one time have been exceptional, but all water features empty (checked and there is water in BW) and kiddies stuff scattered around. Room was spotless and well appointed, but towels and linen could do with replacement. In summary a good facility, which could be great, with some real investment and upkeep from the owner.

Room Tip: Take your own pillows.

A perfect place to say the night on a journey from The Wine lands to Kimberley. In fact we would have quite liked to have stayed longer and had some relaxing time in the lovely garden. The room was large, comfortable large bed, clean and led directly on to the terrace and garden. Jenny greeted us warmly and looked after us well all evening as did Lionel at breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed some excellent lamb chops. A lovely place well worth recommending and excellent value for money.

Beautifully restored in the centre of Beaufort West,McLean quality rooms, the outside rooms were private and secluded, the sitting areas were accessible, private and adequate. Smoke parking and good operational bar facilities.

What a phenomenal stay!!!!! After a long journey we were in need of a good meal, comfortable accommodation and a great breakfast the morning after. Matappo Inn exceeded our expectations! The grounds are beautiful, luscious and sparse. Their dinner was sensational, the most amazing lamb chops & lemon meringue- Karoo Classics. The room has everything you need, very spacious and quiet. The following morning the owner spent time with us and checked in on our stay, she was delightful. Refuelled with a top class breakfast we were ready to hit the road. Thank you to everyone (especially Jenny & Lionel) for an amazing stay. We WILL be back :)

Room Tip: Room 4&5 are perfect.

Stopped in BF-West on the way to Capetown. Found this place by accident and was the 3rd place we looked. The other places we saw were no where near as nice as the Matoppo Inn. First of all check in was a cold beer after getting our details. What a welcome. We had two rooms across from eachother. I was by myself in the bridal suite (BOO-HOO) and my cousin and her husband in the Margaret room which was very NICE. The bed in the bridal suite was well used (not a joke) but it was fine, I slept diagonally. AC in bridal room sorta weak. AC in the Margaret room A-OK. The menu is a la carte, for the day. The Lamb chops are some of the best I have eaten in the world. Dinner is right on the back veranda. Lionel was exceptionally friendly to us in 3-4 capacities, he does everything. In the back there is a small wading pool, water is REAL warm, it was a nice way to cool off after such a long drive. If I was not traveling, I could see how a couple who want to really get away from it all can enjoy 3-4 days here. As for internettt, very dodgy, recommend you bring a hotspot or use your phone....Would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: Get the Margaret room also, the WIFI is strongest (when working) in the dining room area inside, by...
